In case there's anybody following me here who isn't following me anywhere else, the crowdfunding campaign running for the latest issue of my comic book THE BLOOD OF SEVEN QUEENS ends Friday.

There was a video I saw a few weeks ago, of a man holding a child in his arms. The child had been split in half, one half of their body falling away from the other as the grieving man tried to hold everything together in this world gone mad.

@PotatoMcWhiskey Idea for a video: what kinds of games could folks play between now and February, in either Civ V or VI, to help us better prepare for the gameplay of VII? Example: I'm reading the latest @CivGame dev diary and thinking I still don't really understand Specialists.

I know we need to take care of ourselves before we can take care of others, but I can't in good conscience hide myself away from the world anymore while I wait for the storm to pass. The anger I feel and hold in at the people making the storm worse has just hurt me anyway.

I'm ashamed of how quiet I've been on issues that matter to me, all in the hopes of avoiding conflict—which I'm terrified of, and which usually has me curling up into a little ball of anxiety and anger and tears.

In other news, I am close to finally nailing a G to full barre F transition on guitar. After three years of practicing! Some things just take that long. 🙂

I’m embarrassed to say, but I’ve never actually read James Baldwin (except for Giovanni’s Room in college)….where should I start? And/or are there any good biographies you recommend?

It is my birthday! Ladies did I do it right? Seriously tho: For the last year I have been dealing with and recovering from STAGE 1 pancreatic cancer. I am doing well and very lucky/blessed to be doing so well. Mostly because I caught it early by regularly getting screenings with my doctors. Most people don’t if you haven’t in a while and you are reading this.. check in with your doctor. If this would have happened during Covid I DEFINITELY wouldn’t be in the positive position I am in now. So many have suffered from cancer. Take my luck and apply it to yourself and get a check up.
