Everyone is ‘smart’. There are so many varying types of intelligences. Interpersonal, bodily-kinaesthetic, linguistic, logical-mathematical, spacial etc. Educators need to start using these instead of describing academic success as ’smart’.

When I freelanced I felt so incredibly disposable and unworthy. I know other designers who currently feel like this. If you are a freelance designer, you are worthy, you are skilled, you are important and you are valuable.

@sebbiepie Totally, as well as the financials of the situation as well. There are other ways to see if someone is a good addition without requiring they freelance first. The whole freelance to potential full time makes me so angry.

@emlyclrke I feel you, I remember landing my first full time from freelance and they were shocked I was leaving. And like how do you expect someone to fully invest when they have to manage what is coming up next. Really wish it wasn't a thing.
