WE MUST TAKE THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ BY FORCE At this point, we have to kick their ass. We have to take the Strait of Hormuz by force and open it to free navigation under our protection. Like many wars, the conflict with Iran has spiraled in an unanticipated direction. We thought they would fold and they haven't. We thought we could handle them but we haven't. We have truly achieved none of our objectives; instead we have destabilized our allies and alliances, and we have damaged the world economy. This is a first-class mess, and we made it. And we have to clean it up. Not just for the good of the world, but for the preservation of our place in the world. Because, right now, we are Iran's bitch. And if we are Iran's bitch, we are everybody's bitch. If we can be bested by these goat-screwing bastards, then nobody is going to fear us. And if nobody fears us, the world order -- the Pax Americana of the last 80 years -- falls apart. And we can't have that. So we have to impose our will on Iran through force of arms. Not the ineffective drop and plop of an aerial campaign, but the hands-on, blow-them-to-hell approach of our ships and our troops. Not to invade their dirt-bag country, but to open up the deep blue sea. The United States Navy has been committed to defending free navigation of the world's oceans for more than a hundred years, and we should keep that commitment in the Strait of Hormuz. Right now, we are showing the world that we can't do that. Right now, we are showing the world that we have the second most-powerful navy on the planet. Iran has the most powerful. It's speedboats have shut down a global chokepoint and our Navy has been unable to open it. That is a global humiliation that cannot stand. And that's where we are. Whether you like Trump or you hate Trump. Whether you think we should have attacked Iran or you think that we shouldn't have attacked Iran. We are where we are, and where we are is in a bad spot. And our only option is to fight our way out. Iran is mocking us, in word and deed, and we are powerless to compel either capitulation or negotiation. That weakness will only invite problems for the United States, and show us to be the fallen power our rivals claim we are. So we've got to break Iran. We've got to demonstrate our strength, if we have it. We've got to man up. And we do that by taking the Strait of Hormuz away from them. We must command the sea and the land that controls it. Or we must retreat in failure. I wish it were different. No one wants this fight. No one voted for this war. But it is what it is. We broke it, and we bought it. And unless we want the world to get a whole lot more dangerous for America and Americans, we have to fight and we have to win. Because right now we are Iran's bitch, and we are going to live in a world of hurt until we change that.
