Today's the feast of St Lucy, by tradition a 4th Century Sicilian martyr during the Diocletian persecution. Under the Julian calendar her feast was close to the Winter Solstice, and so she's associated with light at the dark time of the year. She holds fire on the screen at Horsham St Faith, Norfolk. 1/2
