Nigerians need to understand, any decision your Doctor decides to take has been thought well and it is in the best interest of the patient.
If you allow religion, emotional bias, media takes to override your Doctor's decision.
It will always end bad.

A man vehemently refused to sign the consent form in a hospital to allow the doctors perform a CS on his wife. He kept saying his religion was against surgery. After several days, the wife eventually passed when they took her to a church for normal delivery.

One of the top reasons I can't do Urology as lucrative and straight forward as I consider it is because of how much it reveals the weakness of men The strongest of men here are weak, vulnerable, dejected, going through depression, have conditions that have weakened their pride and family life beyond their capacity Someone comes here and rather than seeing these so much vulnerability and people in need of help, sees them as evil

The updated guidelines states that it should be inserted after the delivery of the placenta but not more than 48 hours, you don't wait till 6 weeks especially in low resource settings like Nigeria, the woman might likely not come back too and might get pregnant before the end of pueperium. I remember a training I had from TCI about postpartum IUD insertion, I have inserted for five women and none has reported the expulsion during the follow up care.
