‘LUPA, PAGKAIN, at HUSTISYA!’ The Rural Women Advocates and Amihan National Federation of Peasant Women launches ‘Sining Amihan’ exhibit at Chapterhouse in 32 Madasalin St, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City today, October 19, 2025. ‘DI KUKURAP SA KORAP’ Hiphop United Against Corruption, a coalition of HipHop artists and artists’ collectives, holds a benefit event for the persons arrested during the September 21 anti-corruption protest in Mendiola. The event held at MEJO Kitchen & Bar in Quezon City on October 3 is also the official launch of the group. Hiphop United Against Corruption was formed as a response to the massive government corruption exposed in the flood control projects probe. The group states in its unity statement that HipHop is a ‘political movement that has historically fought against oppression, racism, and police and state violence against the people.’ They also denounce the statements made by state officials against HipHop groups, saying that it was them who stoked the violence that took place in Mendiola. Instead of recognizing the legitimate calls of the poor, Hiphop artists say, the government chooses to turn a blind eye. Hiphop United Against Corruption is calling on other HipHop artists to join their coalition and fight prevailing issues of government corruption.
