This month, we declare growth, divine alignment, answered prayers, and fresh strength for every assignment God has committed into our hands. May His presence abide with us, and may His glory be revealed in all that we do.
Welcome to a month of grace, peace, and undeniable testimonies. It shall be our best yet, in Jesus’ name.
Happy new month!

I design and supervised the construction of the plinth of 5.8x2.6m for almost 4 months, my salary was 130k, and I would spend almost 200k per month from ayobo to Eko Atlantic to supervise this Job. It's a sacrifice that reminds me it's not about the pay but the passion I had.

It's a dumpy levelling instrument and the maker is "BOSCH" which is one of the best maker of construction equipment. In Nigeria, the price of this dumpy levelling instrument is around 400-450k

@DrJoeAbah You resulted to direct labour because you downplayed the role of an experienced professional Construction Engineer or Architect on project. The truth is, you might feel like getting a better deal and good work using them directly without the supervision of a professional, but...

For a house I was building, I gave a plumber money to buy pipes. The way he was doing the fittings, I realised that he is a local plumber. I got a developer to lend me his plumber who now helped with all the fixtures and fittings.
We finished the tiling of all the bathroom floors and walls and opened the water. Water was just spurting out of the walls. We had to break all the tiles to see that all the pipes had long cracks in them. I called him and he said maybe the pipes could not carry the pressure of the water and that we needed to change the pipes.
I asked him to do a quote for stronger pipes and he did. As I was about to send him the money, I just had a brainwave. I asked him where he wanted to get the pipes from and he said DeiDei. I asked him to enter the car, let’s go. He looked somewhat shaken.
When we got to the shop that he wanted, I gave the list he had written to the guy and asked him to be bringing the material. As you know, a plumber's quote is unintelligible to a non-plumber. It turned out that the prices were like one-third cheaper than what he quoted. I asked him if he was sure that we had got everything he wrote and he said yes.
The plumber then said that he wanted to quickly check something in the next shop. While he was gone, I asked the guy selling the pipes whether he was sure that these were good pipes because we are having to change everything because of the bad pipes we bought earlier. He said it was the plumber who had selected the pipes that had been outside for a while and had become brittle. They were cheaper and the plumber had said he would take them like that.
I didn’t say anything to the plumber until we got home. I now called him into my study and told him what he had done in his mother tongue, which he didn’t know I could speak. Not in English.
Apart from deliberately buying expired pipes, he still wanted to cheat me again with the prices for buying better ones. That was apart from having to change all the tiles and pay again for tiling. I told him that he is a very wicked man and that I will make sure that he doesn’t do it to another person.
I then brought out a bag that I told him contained all the “instruments” with which I would lay a curse on him.
He immediately lay on the floor and started begging. He said it was the devil that had entered him and that I should please not lay a curse on him and add to his problems. For some reason, the catapult that I had bought from Yankari Games Reserve, which was hanging on the wall behind me, seemed to scare him more than anything else.
He said that he was willing to forfeit all his labour to compensate me. I told him that spiritually, it is wrong to withhold the money of anybody who earns a living from his sweat and the strength of his hands and that I would be cursing myself if I accepted his offer.
I told him it is easier for me to just pay him his labour, lay the curse on him and let him go and be dealing with it in his future. He screamed again in fear and rolled on the floor begging.
Eventually, we agreed that I would pay him for his labour and he would now refund me the money I spent on buying the pipes again. He gratefully accepted, gave me the money back and ran out of the compound with speed.
I lost more than he did but I somehow suspect that he may have learnt some lessons. I certainly did.
Good morning this fine morning. 😀

No matter how many millions you spend on a house, the two people that can ruin it for you are the tiler and the plumber. If you don’t get a good plumber and tiler that can do neat jobs, a N400 million house will look like a face-me-I-face-you yard. I am Ezemmuo. I know things.
