September has begun on an interesting note. Record cold and early frost in Northeast Europe meanwhile Greenland observed 'summer style' extensive melting, the largest September melt event on record.

Such a terrible year for our Alpine glaciers, worst melt season on record for many places.
Extreme and prolonged heat on top of the dusty pink tinge from many Saharan dust events helps the glaciers melt at an unprecedented rate.
This is looking up towards Mont Blanc.

Incredible and unprecedented heat in the Balearic Islands of Spain. Hottest day ever in the archipelago with 44.5C in Formentera. Record heat destroyed at Ibiza with 41.0C in the Airport and 41.8C at Eivissa. Record heat also at Palma Port,Mallorca with 38.9C.

Severe drought is devastating Northern Mexico.
The one-year difference from July 2021 to July 2022 of the Cerro Prieto reservoir is shocking. The reservoir, which provides water to over a million people in Nuevo León, has completely dried up.

We have not seen anything like it. We can't compare this looming heat emergency to summer 1976. A warmer world, thanks to human induced climate change, makes it almost effortless to break extreme heat thresholds. We continue to see this across the planet - not just in Europe.

Relentless heat wave in Southern and Western USA. Yesterday 122F/50C in the Death Valley (hottest worldwide so far this month),very hot in Sacramento Valley with 112F/44.4C at Redding. 114F at Phoenix AZ. Today again up to 110F/43C in Texas. No end in sight for them.

In other words ... widespread 110°F incoming to the central US.
It starts in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas then expands to the West & North. This is one massive heatwave.

Tunisia 🇹🇳 national June record (set last year!) has been equaled today with a piping hot 48.7°C (119.7°F)
Arctic city Tromsø in Norway 🇳🇴 set a new June heat record today with 29.9°C (85.8°F).

When you lower the temp differential between the Poles and the Equator - you get Rolling Rossby's - giving you ongoing weird changes in weather patterns. Modern Civilisation wasn't built on top of weird weather. Agriculture needs stable conditions for decent crop yield
