making robots useful is one of the hardest problems you can tackle, but one of the most rewarding. what we’ve accomplished is nothing short of spectacular, yet there is still so much more to do!

The gap between robotics in the lab and robotics in the real world has been one of the hardest unsolved problems in the industry. We’re excited to come out of stealth and show the research community how we’re tackling the issue. Bloomberg article in comment.

LLMs were trained on Reddit, Wikipedia, Project Gutenberg, GitHub, and Common Crawl.
Robots will be trained on India.

the philosophy of a data flywheel is that the more data you collect, the more you learn, which compounds.
build collects a LOT of data and we can't keep up with how much software we could build to accelerate our collection.
