@BudElliott3 Agreed, but there's really only 40ish schools that actually want to compete for the title. Which would put the % above all these pro leagues. Your argument is the same as the NCAA tournament expanding. Teams 80-350 have no shot, so it's just more mediocrity making it.

You could double the number of teams that make the college football playoff and still be 20% less than the most exclusive playoff format of the other big leagues.

@BudElliott3 College football does not need to resemble professional sports. The more it looks like the pros, the more it's just a minor league. College football has been unique. I'd have thought that you'd appreciate that.

@tsnmike We can certainly disagree. But CFB from like 1990-2010 was certainly better than it is now, at least in my opinion. Realignment has been awful for the sport.

@tsnmike @NDFootball @theACC @PeteSampson_ No. I'm not saying tradition is the reason ND is independent. In a world where Washington is in the B1G and Stanford and Cal are in the ACC, at least ND is trying to maintain some semblance of what made CFB great. Everyone would be better off independent, at least for CFB.

@ChrisVannini Yep, and now instead of a High Point vs Wisconsin 5/12 matchup we'll now get an Auburn/Oklahoma (based on last year) vs. Wisconsin matchup. 🤮 🤮 The 5/12 games are going to be unwatchable now.

The thing I hate most about the tournament expanding is how it will impact bracket analysis in the days leading up to the tournament. Every 5-seed won't know their first round opponent until at least Wednesday. No 5 vs. 12 matchup analysis when we get our brackets on Sunday.
