Great day for the Edinburgh Festival Carnival

Looks like a great day for the Edinburgh Festival Carnival parade, brought to you by @EdinburghJazz, starting at 1pm and travelling down the Mound into West Princes Street Gardens - with more than 1,000 performers in a breath-taking display of music, dance and carnival costumes.

This Sunday, 19th July, Edinburgh Festival Carnival takes to the streets! ❤️🌎✨️ The parade begins at 1pm, with more than 1,000 carnival performers taking part in Scotland’s most vibrant multicultural celebration. The parade is a display of music, dance and carnival costumes from local, national and international artists - followed by entertainment in West Princes Street Gardens from 2.30 - 7pm. What does a life in music look like? Today, students from Edinburgh got a little insight. At Pathways in Music & Festivals, we heard candid stories from our panellists and enjoyed an in conversation and performance with Festival Director Nicola Benedetti.

The World Premiere of Louise Lockwood’s documentary #Bel is our Closing Night Film at EIFF 2026. #Bel is a portrait of Kenyan-Scottish musician Beldina Odenyo, who took her own life, leaving behind intimate video diaries and a hard drive full of original songs of great beauty.
