the ORB algo streak lives on...

Well, this shows the beauty of optimisation. Normally, the algo would have taken a loss today. BUT - due to me optimising the algo to NOT take shorts on Friday due to poor performance on Friday shorts on this algo, I hence avoided the loss. The streak lives on! 😅

2 trades today on $NQ
one short, one long
first trade was full discretion, the other was full data
in these markets, ive been seeing instant 50-70pt 1m candles. crazy pops in one direction.
i've really liked taking the opposing side of that candle.
trade 1
today, at 9:40, there was an 80pt 1m candle that bounced from ORB low to ORB 50 and immediately reversed. as soon as it reversed, i took the short targeting ORB low.
not much data behind this trade, going with the overnight range, and fading those crazy candles has been working really well for me recently. i closed just before the ORB low.
of course it ended up hitting my full TP but in these markets, i've been doing better taking profits quickly as opposed to looking for bigger moves
trade 2
major reversal on $ES and $NQ, NHOD (NY session) was made. for anyone that knows my style, i love to enter on a pull back.
$NQ ran from 29,150 to 29,380, and i was looking for the entry at the ORB high, 29,290, looking to enter long for a break of the IB high at 29,380.
in my opinion the entry was A+, IB25 was right there, round psychological level 29,300, and ORB high, within 20pts of each other

1. opening candle continuation
2. IB by rejection
3. IB
4. outside days
ive said this a million times but i usually look for 40-60pt moves on $NQ if my data backed target is further away, i'll break it up into multiple trades, but i'm never really looking to catch a 200pt move
i took profits 45pts from my entry, planning on leaving runners to IB high then price reversed and i got stopped out for a few points in profit
the reports were all pointing toward the longs. price did end up at the IB high, but in these markets when im up 40-50pts, im not going to let that go red on me.
i'm happy with the trades today

There was a 90% chance we were going to engage with the previous session high according to @edgeful - this was a stat I couldn’t ignore. That’s not a gut feeling. That’s a stat from the Inside Bars report. And it was the only reason I took this trade. VWAP was flattening. IB low formed second. This isn’t my usual IB25 setup and I’d normally pass. But the previous session high was right there. The stats were screaming we would move towards it. Nice entry. Clean touch into the target. Win 🟢 Sometimes you don’t need the perfect setup. You just need to know the data 🤓
