the PL screenshot curse is real
we've confirmed this week

when you screenshot your PL instead of taking profit...

we found a new IB range.
it's from 2-3PM. here's the data:
→ 82.11% of the time, only one side of the IB breaks (single break)
→ 9.76% of the time, price breaks both sides of the IB (double break)
→ 8.13% of the time, there's no breakout
the takeaway:
avoid the morning headlines, trade the afternoon IB instead.

One thing you can check before the session:
Historical market tendencies.
Using @edgeful , I analyzed the last 1 years of $NQ closes by weekday.
The results:
• Monday → 69.2% green
• Tuesday → 44.2% green
• Wednesday → 69.2% green
• Thursday → 48.0% green
• Friday → 60.8% green
It’s not a trading signal.
It’s contextual data that can helps you form a directional bias before looking for execution.

do you usually blow your accounts on Fridays?
if you trade $NQ, here's the data for 15min FVGs (fair value gaps):
→ 63.46% of bullish FVGs get mitigated (price closes back below the FVG)
→ 73.33% of bearish FVGs stay unmitigated (price continues in the direction of the FVG)
the takeaway:
bullish FVGs tend to reverse
bearish FVGs tend to hold and continue lower

@williamtradesnq avoiding fakeouts is a lot easier when your setup is backed by data.
nice work William.

$ES - 15min ORB
I've been wondering whether there was room to let my ORB trades breathe a little more.
My current model targets the 50% ORB extension.
Could I target a little higher and justify a wider stop?
I decided to find out using the Edgeful API.
The result:
> 77.9% of 5,867 confirmed ES ORB breakouts reached the 65% ORB extension after a 5m close outside the range.
Now it's time to backtest the refined version:
- 5m close outside the ORB
- Limit order on the retest
- Wider 1.3R stop
- Target the 65% ORB extension
I'll share the results once I've got enough data.
A mix of algo and manual backtesting should get it there.

Woke up. checked @edgeful
97.37% historical probability of hitting
-0.1 on double break days.
My strategy gave me the entry.
Took profit before it even got there.
I don't need the whole move, just my piece of it.
When data backs my strategy, I execute ✅
