The list of 88 “corporate leaders” backing Kamala Harris is interesting and incredibly revealing. All of the recognizable brands in this list of endorsements had former CEOs sign on so that they couldn’t be punished by the market. This should be seen as an indication that the anti-woke pushback of everyday Americans is working.

Tomorrow night, Trump has a fundamental question to answer preemptively as it will never be asked: What is this all about? I mean the last decade not just his current candidacy. He should remind people he hasn't forgotten the point. He should explain why he has refused to go away and why half the country refuses to let him. Trump has been the vessel for a popular revolt by the vassals against the DC nomenklatura just as that feudal class was poised to consummate its dominion over America's political as well as cultural and civic institutions. Battles have been won and battles have been lost but the final outcome of this conflict is still in doubt. Unprecedented political and legal attacks have been leveled against Trump and many of his supporters because unprecedented combat takes place when illiberal revolutionaries seek to put down an uprising. This is not just the 2024 POTUS election. It is the decisive battle of the war waged for the last decade by people who play by the rules in this country and who seek the restoration of their individual sovereignty and America's national sovereignty. The fundamental question is whether or not we are going to be a people who can think and speak and transact freely or have the state chart all of those courses for us, at the point of a gun. Trump should call the question. It could be his Patton's speech to the Third Army moment: 30 years from now when you're sitting by the fireplace with your grandson on your knee and he asks, "What did you do when the New Bolsheviks threatened to destroy America from the inside out?" You can tell him, I rode with the great People Who Play by the Rules Brigade and a son-of-a-goddamned-bitch named Donald Trump.

Illinois property taxes are immorally high everywhere, but especially in the South Suburbs. At the property tax town hall on Sat morning that I asked Cornell Darden to set up, people were tired of talk and they want action. I said their state reps could do two things immediately in veto session. 1. Modify the current budget to cut it by $7 billion which is about half the amount of growth in just the last five years and cut checks directly to residential property owners in a designated priority which includes people who have seen double digit percentage increases in the last year. 2. Pass an absolute 5-year hard freeze on levies. Government needs to live with less money in this state. I then told them they need to start going to their school board meetings. I showed a property tax bill where taxes had gone up 93% and only 5% of the kids were at grade level in math at one of the school districts taking money from the homeowner. Reforms must follow on public sector union contracts and pensions.

It is Harris’s race to lose. It was Biden’s race to lose. Trump will have a bit of difficulty debating her because she isn’t a woman like Hillary. Hillary was easy to attack because of who she was. Plus, she was white. Harris will be harder to attack without Trump looking like a total bully. Harris will feign “hurt”. She’s a good actress when she knows the lines. There is a video going around by some academics talking about the election and laying out the case for Trump. I would suggest anyone that is uneasy about voting for Trump watch it. They say the downsides to a Harris administration are far far greater than a Trump administration. I think they are on the money in their analysis. Sometimes in decision making, you don’t optimize for the upside, but you do all you can to limit your downside. This might be one of those times given where the country is and the situations that the next President will inherit.
