If you want to become a flashy editor, stop reading here. If you want to actually understand storytelling — how pacing works, how music moves emotion, how to make a viewer feel something — read this. I'm self-taught. Learned everything from YouTube, no mentor, no course. Then I found two editors who changed how I edit completely — @TheEditorJosh and @editorartem. Followed what they teach. Understood the why behind it. Applied it. My editing got 10x better in 6 months. Not flashier. Better. Here's what changed: -Stopped chasing extra plugins and scripts -Design over animation -Prioritize when to show, rather than how to show -Started using music as a sound effect, not just background — it shifted how I approach every edit You don't need 50 plugins to make a good video. You need to understand what makes a video watchable. The only two I kept — Comp buddy and Prime tool. Everything else, deleted. If you're editing to sell something — to convert viewers into buyers — you need storytelling first. Flashy is just decoration on top of that. These two are the GOATs. Everything I know traces back to them.
