1/2 Thanks for everyone's encouragement on my coronavirus posts. We will be announcing a new organization on Monday focused on 1) accurate modeling of the spread of the virus in Georgia, 2) a public service, celebrity driven campaign encouraging people to Get Their ______ Inside,

(2/2) Italy down to 10% w national quarantine. Winning the battle. Without major immediate changes in policy (quarantines), my model predicts 6,000 US deaths and 124 GA deaths in one day, Easter Sunday. Further predicts 1,800 GA deaths in one day, April 30. We must act now.

(1/2) The US now leads the world with over 123,000 coronavirus cases. We had 510 Americans die yesterday. It is going to get much, much worse before it gets better. This chart of daily death rate growths from my model helps in visualizing our national emergency.

2/2 Symptoms show up after 5 days. 8 days later for a death (per Italy). We started aggressive social distancing on March 16, so it will be March 29 before those efforts may start showing up in a graph like this for the US.

1/2 Here is a graph from my model comparing daily death growth rates for US/Italy. Italy is pointing down - appear to be flattening the curve. At the moment we are accelerating in the opposite direction. We will be flattening our curve when the blue line is trending down.

Most important chart I can share from my model - haven't seen this anywhere else. If we don't get the blue line pointed down toward 10% and below quickly, we will lose 100s of thousands. It's trending in the wrong direction today. Our national challenge. #coronavirus @cnnbrk

I am also monitoring the growth rates in Australia and Brazil very closely for clues as to the impact of warmer weather to slow the spread of the coronavirus. It's early in both countries - I'll share details as the picture becomes more clear.

Are we Italy? Over the past 6 days, Italy's daily death growth rate has averaged 22.9% vs. 17.7% in the US. I am watching Italy's numbers very closely to see if their March 9 quarantine "flattens the curve" - an important clue to our path forward in the U.S.
