@rhofford Dad and I debate this every fall. Best we have currently (Elmers haulmaster) is greased well, tarp open, drag auger gate open all the way, and both the unload and drag open clean outs open, and auger out. No snow on tarp and any water can flow out with no bearings exposed.

Well we finished last night and ran around today finishing up some sloughs and few spots left. 100% done #harvest2025 and we couldn’t do it without our extra help and @TrochuMotors who keeps us up and going everyday. Huge thanks to them. Also @Geringhoff makes it easy!

We finished all the cereals Sunday night and now just waiting for canola. Lots to do in the mean time. Wife also brought Ryan out for a combine ride, I think he will make a good operator. #geringhoff @TrochuMotors Wayne for the massey onesie Ryan’s wearing.

It was a Great Day @PioneerSeedsCA !!!! Getting out and seeing some of our business partners and dropping off a treat bag. Farmers are in full gear here in Central Alberta harvesting and we couldn’t be more proud of them!! Thank a farmer,,,,that’s who feeds you, not the grocery store

Finishing the last of the canola

Finished the peas the other day, was doing some full flexing with the hoff #geringhoff the best header on the market. Cleaned the ideal to go back into some more barley. And as the harvest crew continued I went seeding to put some fall rye in from #didsburyseeds.

Day 5 of #harvest25 350 acres of malt barley done and in the bin and funny how some barley was ready before our peas but on our peas now! Slow going but doing a nice job. #geringhoff #masseyideal

I can hear the weather modification plane flying overhead trying to protect us from hail. That pilot deserves to ride a horse in the Stampede parade.

@abfarmer1962 Yup I know where that is. Never good to see that, we have had some neighbors fields do that in ours and it basically ruined our crop and made it hard to farm for the next couple years, finally got it back under control. I haven’t drove past my corn yet, hopefully none of that.

Wild NW cold front tonight - almost black out conditions at times. Good to see my soils holding zero till works! Yet some land nearby that’s worked maybe too much plus the research farm next door took a huge hit. 31c to 14c in less than half hour. Rain 🤔 hope soon👍

@abfarmer1962 Nope it sucks for sure. Those high of winds though and most peoples fields will blow abit regardless of how they manage their soil. Some just worse than others.

@edwardmeadowlea Got hit by storm on 791 by the Fairview Hutt as I was driving north. was a dust blizzard all the way home. Frig not nice to see all that dirt blowing 🤬

The 2 week forecast for Calgary indicates no frost and 1/2 inch of rain Monday/Tuesday. That rain, if one trusts the weatherman, would be fantastic.
