I'm a few days late for the 1st, but I'm going to start posting daily entries from my grandfather's journal from 1941. Good, wholesome 1940's memories. Hope you enjoy following along. #diary #tunisdiary #history #journaling

@sar62863 @AMAZlNGNATURE From a natural, evolutionary perspective, it's understandable. There are predators and prey. From a God as a creator perspective, it's pretty warped and twisted. Imagine designing your creation where most living things are eaten alive, often in excruciatingly painful ways.

@AMAZlNGNATURE It's not cruel, it's survival. Nature is beautiful If you are emotional don't invest in certain a species. Look at the big picture, they gotta eat. I get attached to my seedlings, then every spring I realize I am going to eat them. It's not my world, it is Gods world.

How did we get to the point where America is sending taxpayer dollars all over the world to NGOs that undermine religious freedom? That is not what protecting religious liberty looks like, and it ends with this administration.

@JDVance @ComfortablySmug They not only undermined religious freedom but some NGOs deliberately undermined our border security. They should be prosecuted.

@davidjconnelly @17ThankQ All the recent natural disasters - Hawaii, California, NC... the conspiracy theories are that these are land grabs and people are outraged. Trump suggesting a take over of the war torn Gaza strip to build a beachside resort and his supporters are all gushing with their support.

@LogicalAspect @SmartKakar1 @EndWokeness Congress authorized the agency. Because the USAID was authorized and funded by Congress through the FAA, the president cannot completely abolish it. Kennedy's EO could be revoked and the agency reorganized or restructured, but not eliminated without Congress also taking action.

@LogicalAspect @SmartKakar1 @EndWokeness The Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (FAA) authorized the establishment of USAID which began operations under Kennedy's executive order. The legislation restructured and consolidated foreign aid programs.

@SmartKakar1 @EndWokeness Really, Interesting considering it was JFK under executive order who created USAID... I wonder if it was a Constitutional issue then or required approval of Congress.

@SoCalAttorney66 @ArtCandee @jdefor Are you privy to the financial reports submitted by USAID? How do you know what policing goes on? There are Performance and Accountability Reports Inspector General Audits Federal Assistance Reports (this is online) Annual Reports to Congress

@ArtCandee @jdefor Let me help you here. Congress allocates money but sadly does not do a good job of policing how it's spent. This agency needs a DEEP audit at the very least and the 1/3 of my pay that goes to taxes every year needs to be accounted for.

At the press conference outside of USAID headquarters, Senator Brian Schatz: "If you want to change an agency, introduce a bill and pass a law. You cannot wave away an agency that you don't like or that you disagree with by executive order, or by literally storming into the building and taking over the servers. That is not how the American system of government works." Nailed it!

@PragueBoyz @CalltoActivism We are currently at 4% unemployment. We need more people to stand up all this manufacturing. There are some products that just don't grow well here. Sourcing everything from the US will raise prices. There are reasons we import products.

A: Elon is wrong, if he actually said that. B: The infrastructure needed would never get built (corruption). C: One tornado and you are set back to zero. Sounds good on paper, but we dont have the resources, the infrastructure, or the need to replace an energy source(s) that are known to work.

ELON: YOU COULD EASILY POWER THE ENTIRE US WITH SOLAR Elon: “You could actually power the entire United States with a 100 miles by 100 miles of solar.” Joe Rogan: “So you could just pick some dead spot that you fly over, cover that sucker up with solar panels, and charge the whole country, 24/7?” Elon: “Absolutely. We need batteries, but yes. It's not hard, meaning it's very feasible. The sun is converting over 4 million tons of mass to energy every second, and it's no maintenance. That thing just works.” Source: The Joe Rogan Experience, October 2023, @joerogan

@elonmusk Work programs are essential to give inmates purpose and skills, buyt uhhh, this is forced slave labor, incentivizing the private prisons to keep inmates in for longer and profit off of their nearly free labor.

@Oppie4547 @CalltoActivism Trump is making the sweeping generalization that unqualified people are being put in positions as Air Traffic Control to meet targeted disability hiring practices. You realize that the FAA has many positions other than ATC don't you? Positions that have 0 impact on flight safety?

Please read this statement from the family of Rebecca Lobach. Read every damn word. And then share it with anyone you know who still cheers on this sorry excuse for a President. The President of the United States, the Vice President and the Secretary of Defense claimed, without evidence, that this accomplished warrior was only in the pilot’s seat because of “DEI”. She was in the top 20% of cadets nationwide—and it’s pathetic and disgusting that her family had to issue this statement to the country to justify her seat even in her death because the leaders she served under blamed her for the accident in front of the White House press corps within 12 hours of the crash on baseless speculation that she was unqualified because she was a woman. If you’re an American—or even if you’re just a decent person—this should make you burn.

@JeffHosterman @KCV16 @elonmusk Granted we can streamline many regulations, but they were enacted for reasons. Regulations are generally reactive, created in response to conditions or incidents. Pollution, worker / consumer injuries, worker / consumer deaths, theft.

@jbreeves @RpsAgainstTrump Why must it balance? The US population is larger than Mexico and much larger than Canada. The US had a demand that we can't fill with internal production, so we import.

“The dumbest trade war in history” The WSJ Editorial Board slams Trump’s trade war with Camada and Mexico: “Mr. Trump sometimes sounds as if the U.S. shouldn’t import anything at all, that America can be a perfectly closed economy making everything at home. This is called autarky, and it isn’t the world we live in, or one that we should want to live in, as Mr. Trump may soon find out… None of this is supposed to happen under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement that Mr. Trump negotiated and signed in his first term. The U.S. willingness to ignore its treaty obligations, even with friends, won’t make other countries eager to do deals. Maybe Mr. Trump will claim victory and pull back if he wins some token concessions. But if a North American trade war persists, it will qualify as one of the dumbest in history."
