It just seems a little hypocritical to pick and choose when people like something from another culture. We see it with food all the time. We see it with clothing and music and architecture. The gatekeeping gets a little tired, which is why I made the point I did about the "kimono" in the picture. They are rented out all over Kyoto. Now I will say that the one he had is something he is clearly purchased because it was much higher quality.
