Bruh, you have fallen and bumped your head. The Congo is still in the stone ages. Every part of the infrastructure built by the Europeans is collapsing since they do not understand the concept of maintenance. Whatever mineral or natural resources they have will still be sold to the west since they cannot develop them and if they do, the wealth will be stolen by a cadre of elites.

@piratecapt16 @machioluoma First of all: Yes they weren't because the stone age is a European concept. Second, archeologists have found a lot of Evidence for highly developed cultures in sub-sahara africa. But I get that white Americans aren't educated enough to know or recognize this.

I'm so sick of this "Star Trek has always been woke" bullshit. No, it hasn't. Star Trek has always had some degree of progressive messaging, but it has always been done with nuance and allegory, with the goal of getting the audience to think. Not lecturing them on how to think. "Woke" is blunt messaging that uses the entertainment media as a vehicle to deliver it. It's not getting people to think. It's telling them what to think and insulting them if they think differently. It's checkbox diversity for diversity's sake. It doesn't even have to make sense within the story world, because it's not even about the diversity itself. It's about the self-righteous showrunners and producers wanting to get all of the back pats and applause for themselves for showing how enlightened they think they are. "Woke" is nothing but performative pseudo-activism driven by self-centered narcissists who want everyone to look at them and clap for how progressive they think they are.

Modern Trek is about as subtle as a hand grenade. A lot of modern Trek is downright preachy or lecturing in its messaging. It's messaging first, story in a distant second. TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager and even Enterprise were story first, any potential messaging second. The first goal was entertainment, not lecturing. And as I said in my initial post, it was done in a way to get you to think for yourself, not telling you that there's one way that you should think or you're a bad person, as is too often the case with modern TV shows. My point is that simply having messaging inserted into a story doesn't make it"woke". But when it's more about the message than the story, that's when it becomes "woke".
