Bad bad move @XterioGames One step forward with positive tokenomics for nft holders (rarity seemed to be rewarded ) and about 100 steps back with the execution of it. Snapshot for token take 3 days ago and just announced a couple hours ago. I call this the old “Farm and Fuck” nft holders strategy: Team and insiders get to offload NFTs into the speculative liquidity, the nft holders (new and old) get left with a deflated bag. Win for insiders L for everyone else The result now: - absolute outrage by new buyers who grabbed xterio related eco nfts for token drop turned into bag holding investors as the floors crater 50 to 70 percent - the real long term nft holders now watch their nft value crater 70 percent - TGE likely to crash hard given the outrage and like my angry nft holders rage dumping into the market maker With your entire existence in web3 is mostly founded and funded by the hyped NFT mints tied to your brand (@OverworldPlay etc), this is a beyond stupid move by Xterio. @withvana pulled the exact same move with the insiders/team following the same farm n fuck NFT holders playbook. L for LOSEVANA at least squeezed out a Binance listing though that didn’t save the rekt NFT holders who came in for a trade Why is this so hard in web3 to do right by your long term supporters who back you? Now you hit your TGE with a wave of toxicity and angry bag holders and a rekt reputation. How to do a nft token snapshot right: 1) Announce a snapshot ahead so the market can act accordingly Or 2) Take snapshot, announce it right away That’s it! It’s not rocket science, which must mean project teams are either fucking stupid or trying to intensionally fuck their holders Thanks for playing all of you Xterio asset holders and supporters, but we don’t give a fuck about you apparently. Over the last few months we've gotten way better at real user identification & have started building prediction models at @pixels_online. This is the core infrastructure that all web3 games will need. Here's a detailed update on all that what we're up to... Fundamentals & Revenue We've managed to lower our daily active wallets, (mostly) maintain real DAU, and increase monthly revenue over the last 90 days. Last 30 day revenue: 9.08m $PIXEL, previous 30 days: 8.1m $PIXEL. We've also started to build more revenue streams in @pixels_online besides VIP that are significantly more sustainable. Coin purchasing in-game has actually become the largest source of in-game $PIXEL burn. The Pixels Community Treasury (0xE855e66104E4a037C669B674E0cd4E99A1Ce487F) now has built a balance of nearly 40m $PIXEL. Soon the foundation will announce the initial plan for governance. With Chapter 2.5 we've also made really great steps at combating in-game inflation. Daily coin inflation has dropped 83.9887% since Chapter 2.5 was released. Data Science A lot of the above improvements were driven by game improvements & economy enhancements The next stage of rollouts to our tech will start to bring in some of our 'smart' token distribution tech. We've been investing heavily into data science & prediction. We are in the fortunate position where we have 2 years of live game data to use to build models on the effectiveness of in-game rewards. Now what we're starting to do is build insights on our token economy. Here are the questions we're asking... 👉 How might we identify different types of users in-game combining all of our data sources (on-chain data, in-game data, and demographic data) 👉 What do each of these user segments do with $PIXEL when we give it to them? Do they use it in-game? Do they sell it immediately? Are they sybil farmers? 👉 Who are the right people to give $PIXEL rewards to? The goal for the next stage is to start to increase real DAU & in-game spend with smarter rewards. Simply put we want to give out more tokens to users who are more likely to use them in-game (though there is a lot more nuance behind the scenes than that)! Gameplay There's still a lot of work - but we've made good progress on game economy & gameplay. Now that we have a better foundation we can start expanding gameplay. We have a few more updates coming out with Chapter 2.5 to address more game economy fixes that will also be paired with some NEW features! And then focus turns on to Chapter 3 (realistic release date is Q1 2025). Chapter 3 will be all NEW mechanics that should give more depth to gameplay. We'll finally introduce some kind of pve or pvp mechanic - something our players have been asking for since day 1. Still a lot to do here, but the possibilities have opened! Let us know what you all way to see - development will kick off very soon - so now is the time to 'inception' us. We're Bringing More On-chain We saw a lot of success with cosmetic spend for our halloween event. There was a lot to learn from this event - but one of our biggest takeaways is that more of this content belongs on-chain! When we move more in-game items on-chain the possibilities expand. In the future we might even be able to offer on-chain rewards like these for actions like staking the $PIXEL token. Ecosystem More games & experiences will be joining the $PIXEL with some major announcements coming very soon. All of the core tech that we've built & described above will be used across the ecosystem. Users will soon be able to login with their Pixels accounts to access these other games, and their reputation will follow them across the ecosystem. This unlocks even more insights for token distribution, more opportunities for players to be rewarded, more fun for players, and more use-cases for $PIXEL. Binance Blockchain Week & Future Events Pixels was fortunate enough to be able to host a virtual version of #BinanceBlockchainWeek2024 with @binance. There were 236k unique users that visited over the week & 194k users completed an in-game quest where they visited & interacted with all the sponsor's booths. The only incentives offered were in-game decorations. This was a powerful show of the value of the Pixels userbase is & definitely an under-explored mechanic. We should do more of this... Conclusion It's been a strong month and @pixels_online has built a much more solid foundation. We have more changes rolling out soon that should further improve our fundamentals and get us closer to bringing sustainable play-to-earn to the masses. We believe the future of play-to-earn revolves around the merger of great tech, great players, & great games & we're making strides in all of those areas.
