#CIVEX @cllrkmac reiterates the @EA_CoR's firm opposition to the European Commission’s plans to renationalise major parts of EU funding through #MegaFunds and #NRPPs. “In my 11 years in the @EU_CoR, the renationalisation of EU funds is probably the worst proposal I have ever seen. As a Group, and as an institution, we will continue to oppose it.”

During today’s #GreenDeal Working Group, EA member and CoR rapporteur @cllrkmac spoke on his report on the #EUAgendaForCities, which aims to capture the momentum of urban policy thinking and expand the EC agenda to multiple thematic areas. Members thanked the rapporteur, pointing out the importance of this Agenda for LRAs, and the opportunities and challanges opened with the new MFF project.

Speaking at the #GreenDeal working group, EA Member @gryffroy highlighted the importance of facilitating the access to information related to Environment and Green Deal. Information needs to arrive to all local authorities and not only to the ones that are big enough to have the #capacity.

In the @EU_CoR plenary debate on the future #MFF with Commissioner @Piotr_Serafin, our president @Maupertuis_N stressed that the next #EUBudget and the National & Regional Partnership Plans (#NRPP) are not merely a budgetary mechanism: they are a political choice that must ensure a stronger, more predictable, and fairer Europe. She underlined that #cohesion must remain a fundamental principle of the EU budget, alongside defence and security. NRPPs can represent an opportunity, but only if three conditions are met: ✅a genuine role for regions from the beginning ✅clear pre-allocations ✅compulsory territorial impact assessments President Maupertuis also called for a stronger insular dimension in the Regulation's final text: “We are not asking for a favour, but for recognition of permanent structural handicaps. This is about competitiveness, solidarity and, ultimately, sovereignty.” 🇪🇺

In the @EU_CoR plenary debate on the future #MMF with Commissioner @Piotr_Serafin, @LiesaScho said the Commission’s proposal represents a significant change in how the EU budget would be implemented. Referring to the opinion of the @EUAuditors, she warned that moving to a single National & Regional Partnership Plan per Member State does not sufficiently secure the role of regions. “This is not a technical detail, it is a central question of governance.” 🇪🇺

En plénière du @EU_CoR avec l’intergroupe des îles nous avons fait adopter un amendement à la proposition de la @EU_Commission sur le budget européen post 2027 : il défend la prise en compte du fait insulaire dans l’ensemble des politiques et financements européens post-2027. Une étape de plus pour la reconnaissance des contraintes de l’insularité dans l’UE.

Així com a la UE treballem per reforçar la cultura i la llengua a escala local, els petits municipis fan una gran tasca contribuint en la riquesa cultural i patrimonial d’Europa. N’hem parlat amb alcaldes i regidors de la Safor.

Ha estat un plaer participar en la presentació de #Sorda a la @filmotecacat, coproducció catalana nominada a diversos premis, entre ells el @luxaward del Parlament Europeu. Un nou exemple de la força del cinema català per visibilitzar històries que emocionen i fan reflexionar.

Avui hem aprovat en comitè un informe que reclama una definició comuna de la violació a escala europea i que aquesta es basi en el consentiment. A més, estableix mínims comuns en termes tan crucials com la prevenció, la formació, l'educació sexual o l'accés a la justícia.

Hem arribat a #Guatemala 🇬🇹 amb una missió del Parlament Europeu, en un moment clau per al país. Seguirem de prop la renovació dels principals òrgans judicials per contribuir, des de la UE, a la defensa de l’estat de dret i les garanties democràtiques. 🧵👇
