Everyone talks about Argentine Patagonia. But 3 hours away is a thousand miles of coastline better than California. and no one seems to know it. The mid-coast of Chile: Endless rolling beach cliffs and mountains combined with super relaxed little towns. Plus penguins, whales, huge waterfalls, and old growth forests that are more diverse than in the north. Not to mention 20k foot snow-capped Andes mountains as the backdrop. You don’t need to roadtrip the overpriced west coast USA. You’ll spend less by flying all the way to Chile, renting there, and driving half the country. Literally just look around google maps in Chile. The whole thing is 1 big national park. that’s all it took for me to book. P.S. NYC to Santiago Chile is super cheap if you use points. Done it twice.
