🚨 PREDATOR ALERT ⚠️ If you're coming to the UK as an Immigrant, be careful of this fellow @Oluomoofderby He's been accused to run CoS scams running into thousands of pounds. His target are vulnerable desperate immigrants. The community he created has publicly disowned him. Be careful. He hides under the mirage of "good governance", support for Peter Obi to constantly whitewash his image. He latches onto seemingly credible public figures, and nurture a "friendship" - all to reinforce his public cred. Be careful of Ole omo of Derby.

@ComradeOduAke @nellycentz @yabaleftonline Lets use your calculations. 2500x12= 30,000 per annum 30,000x 30 years = 900,000. So you pay 900k and own nothing but someone else pays 550k and own the building. That your experience get as e be sha

It’s all lies, a system designed to sell illusions. Let me explain. I live in the U.S., and I’m a residential builder. I also own a home with a mortgage, and I can confidently say that homeownership, as it’s sold to most people, is a form of entrapment. Let me tell you why. My property was valued at $450,000. As a builder, I have constructed similar homes for under $250,000. That alone tells you the true cost has already been more than doubled by banks, lenders, developers, and the overall housing system. Now add the interest spread over a 30-year mortgage, and I’ll likely end up paying closer to $550,000 in total. That figure doesn’t even include monthly utilities, property taxes, insurance, or ongoing maintenance. In comparison, I could rent a two-bedroom condo for $2,500 a month with utilities included and live very comfortably, without the financial and mental burden of ownership. Unless you’re buying outright in cash or you’re financially strong enough to purchase a multi-family property, where rental income offsets part of your mortgage or maintenance costs, you’ll end up paying for a house for most, if not all, of your working life. For these reasons, I’m seriously considering putting my house on the market this year and restructuring my living arrangements. I’ve been spending more time in Nigeria in recent years, and renting would easily meet all my needs while giving me greater flexibility and financial freedom.

@ComradeOduAke @AustynArimoro @utdlucky @yabaleftonline Your ignorance is LOUD.. 6 years mortgage? 🤣. 10-20% deposit when na 5% for first time buyers in a new build.. please do more research of UK mortgage system before you use "US experience" dey condemn people.

Once again, your arrogance is running faster than you sense, I reside in the US. You guys have surely been sold the equity narrative and like the Nigerian that you’re, you fall for it hook and sink. I say it again, you’re clueless than a door knob, here’s some education you may find useful for free. Let’s say this property is valued at £250,000 moderate pricing. A 10–20% down payment would be £25,000–£50,000. The mortgage would then be spread over 6 years, with an interest rate of about 5–6.5%, which is common for a first-generation Nigerian buyers in the UK. Keep these figures in mind. Now, let’s estimate the monthly costs of owning this property: •Electricity: £60 monthly average •Water & sewage: £55 average •Garbage: Covered by property tax in the UK •Property tax: £2,000 yearly ÷ 12 = about £160 monthly •Maintenance: £3,000 yearly ÷ 12 = about £250 monthly •Monthly mortgage payment on 80% mortgage loan: £3,310 This brings your average monthly cost to £3,845. Meanwhile, the average rent for a two-bedroom condo or apartment, including utilities, is around £1,500–£2,000 per month. Don’t let yourself be misled by the idea of “building equity.” That’s often a catchphrase used by banks and developers to grow their own wealth. I’ve spent the past 10 years running a residential construction company in the US, and over time I’ve gained a deep understanding of how the industry works. If someone had explained these realities to me when I first moved to the US, I wouldn’t have fallen into the mortgage trap myself. I’d likely be 60% wealthier today. There’s a big difference between what looks good on paper and what the numbers actually mean when analyzed with financial knowledge. In hindsight, I would have considered buying a multi-family property that could generate income while also providing accommodation, instead of falling into this kind of financial commitment. This is free advice, take it as you will, or learn from experience. ✌️
