When the only women’s shelter in Worcester, MA shut down, many women escaping the sex trade were pushed back onto the streets. Help acquire the building for #AHomeOfOurOwn, a cooperatively-owned shelter run by and for women, by Project Priceless: givebutter.com/utgnFa

Or maybe bc males like you have a limited view of what it’s like to be a woman, such as meaningless, socially constructed stereotypes. Rather than navigating life as a person who belongs to a group of people that faced sex based oppression since forever.

@lea_labryssal there is this underlying postmodernist belief that humans are above biology, therefore anything that connects to that is seen as backwards, incomplete. they reject female sex oppression bc they’d have to contend with sex as a material reality (they don’t want this to be the case)

@bbloombaby sex from a lens of desired gender identity or sex dysphoria, which in turn makes them feel like sex IS the imposition on gender? they want sex abolition but also ultimately gender (as their personhood/identity) expansion.

many will spout the rhetoric of “the sexing of the body” being a violent and political process as leverage against women, as if we are hand-in-hand oppressors of those in pursuit of another gender identity. when all our sexing under patriarchy has done is violently oppress us,

“sexing” again being the gendering—the associations and presentations imposed unto sex. the point is we are not beneficiaries in the oppression of other marginalised groups whose axis of oppression are not sex-based, for naming our own sex.

politically subjugate us, & medically harm us. it sees sex oppression as a past condition that no longer exists, at least not in a way that is specifically for us, rather anyone who “lives as a woman.” therefore if you observe your sex you are participating in that violence.

treating sexual access as an entitlement that supersedes other people’s autonomy. just don’t be in a relationship nor watch porn if you want to be “ethical” about your pursuit for libido satiation.

“Because the 50s, the regency era, and the rococo era are all still eras in which the male gaze existed, dressing in the feminine beauty standard of a bygone era doesn’t absolve you from the omnipresence of the gaze—you are merely performing for an echo of the gaze passed.”

if your feminism is allowed to exist in the mainstream then you should know it’s in direct coordination with patriarchy.
