A recent Reimagine Main Street and PayPal survey found that 82% of small businesses say AI is essential to stay competitive. Yet... 73% say they don't have the tools or training to actually use it. That's the whole problem in two numbers When a Fortune 500 adopts AI, there's a team to figure it out. Training, vendors, a CTO, a budget. When a five-person shop adopts it, the owner is doing the work between payroll and a customer email at 9pm. Productivity gains follow whoever has time to learn. Without enablement at the SMB layer, AI widens the gap between large employers and Main Street. Which makes a practical course built for small business owners a useful thing. Which is exactly what PayPal and Anthropic are doing by launching AI Fluency for Small Business, which puts training in front of the operators who employ most of the country and have the least slack to experiment. The models keep getting better. Whether the businesses that need them most are ready is a separate question. I'm curious... if you run a small business how are you handling keeping up with AI?
