For almost a week now, I’ve been trying to understand the Israel Solai issue, and I fully understand the emotions involved, especially given events in the Middle East. But I fear we may be directing anger at the wrong target. Israelis are not the only foreigners acquiring land in Kenya. Turkish citizens are active on the Coast from Kwale to Kilifi. UAE interests have been taking over even forests Indians too. Americans, British, Europeans, and others are also purchasing land in Kenya Nor would this be the first foreign religious or cultural project in Kenya. Chinese citizens have built Buddhist temples in Kenya. Turkish organizations have built mosques. Many foreign-funded churches and institutions exist across the country. So the core issue is not nationality or religion. The real issue is our laws. Foreigners are not seizing land by force; they are navigating weak regulations, gaps in oversight, and unclear ownership systems. Today, the debate is about Israelis. Tomorrow it could be any other country. The underlying risk remains the same. If we don’t fix this, Kenya risks recreating a modern version of the colonial land imbalance, where citizens are crowded out of their own land. Instead of outrage alone, we should be pressuring our MPs and Parliament to amend the law to protect strategic land, review foreign land ownership laws, and have the Ministry of Lands accelerate the issuance of title deeds to locals to secure land permanently. Foreign investors could be allowed to lease land for limited short periods rather than permanently own vast tracts. Public outrage alone will not solve this. Pressure on Parliament to reform the law will. Treat the disease, not the symptom.

Governor Orengo: The SG of ODM is Edwin Sifuna, so don’t be deluded. The problem in ODM is President Ruto, and we are asking him to let it go. He has not taken the party hostage, but rather is merely in possession of it. He is convening meetings while excluding Sifuna & Osotsi

My friend Ndindi Nyoro , with due respect, I acknowledge and appreciate your deep analysis regarding the proposed sale of the government’s Safaricom shares. However, my position is clear and unapologetic. This conversation should not be framed around whether the shares are sold to Kenyans or to an international entity. Safaricom is not just another company ,it is a national heritage and a strategic asset. It must be protected at all costs. There should be no double speak, no sugarcoating, and no clever wording to justify what is plainly unacceptable. We must call out and stop this government shenanigan. Public assets should not be treated as emergency cash machines to fix poor fiscal discipline. SAFARICOM BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE OF KENYA , NOT TO TEMPORARY OCCUPANTS OF OFFICE . My friend Ndindi Nyoro, unless one has a personal commercial interest in acquiring these shares given the widely known fact that you actively trade in shares this proposal should worry every patriot. As for me, I stand firmly with Kenyans. If this matter comes before Parliament, I will vote against it without hesitation. National heritage is not for sale.

My latest DM is a sad story of impunity in this country. Let's enjoy Christmas and tomorrow l shall post. If we fail to fix the police, we are in trouble. Some people can do whatever they want since the police never bother to successfully prosecute rich lawbreakers. #SemaUkweli
