Tonight’s physio walk felt like I was dragging myself through concrete. Freezing, exhausted and moving at a snail’s pace, that bench ahead somehow felt both so close and impossibly far away. I struggled but so glad I made it! T'was one slow, stubborn step at a time. #resilience

Today I had the opportunity to work face-to-face with 2nd year @latrobe occupational therapy students during tutorials focused on interviewing and communication way questions are asked can significantly shape someone’s comfort, trust, and willingness to engage.

An oldie but a goodie. Today at local pool I was doing an exercise called “Seaweeding” — holding onto the side of the pool and gently weaving my body through the water. It’s an exercise I first learned in physio nearly 20 years ago, and somehow it’s still just as therapeutic !

Walking without my frame — something that still doesn’t come easy, even 20 years after my stroke. This is what my weekly physio sessions look like. Step by step, relearning, rebuilding, and pushing through the things you can’t always see… Today was especially tough.

My body was already exhausted, my arms were sore, and every step felt heavier than usual. But I showed up anyway. Because this is how I keep going. This is how I manage my strength, my mobility, my balance and my independence.
