In the VTuber community, it’s common to call the illustrator of a VTuber their “mama” — a nickname used regardless of the creator’s gender. However, I don’t feel comfortable being referred to that way. That’s because those terms aren’t gender-neutral, and they don’t represent how I identify. For that reason, I prefer to be called simply JINKEI, with they/them pronouns, or referred to as the illustrator or the character designer. Please understand that I’m not rejecting the “mama/papa” culture itself—I simply feel that it doesn’t suit me personally. I hope you can understand my preference.
