Yeah I’ve also read reports about him inviting Haitian ships for reinforcements to recreate the model in North America. @bernard_shabazz Nah that’s not really what I have in mind. I’m thinking more about the prominent philosophical ideas you get from Douglass, Du Bois, up to Jackson and Newton. There’s a model of humanity that is antagonistic to modern humanism and beyond it (in that it’s truly universal).

@bernard_shabazz Humanism is not a universal concept. Universal definitions of common humanity in modernity are generated historically by Black traditions that are adversarial in their posture towards liberal democratic humanism, rather than being an extension of it.

Yup. That’s one thing I hate about America. It’s all in the structure of the society: people equate money to character. In reality, money don’t make you smart at all. And just cause you broke don’t mean you’re less worthy as a person or unintelligent.
