@sfnexmap This is pretty fascinating to think about. FYI I think "ht" on Twitter means you are giving me credit for sharing this, rather than the other way around!

i just published my talk-turned-blogpost, discussing software that delights & amuses...desktop pets, older design philosophies that surrounded Clippy, & the place this has in modern games or software. The Joy of Silly Useless Software: nathalielawhead.com/candybox/the-j… RTs appreciated!🙏💕

@sevaseviene @sweetisme3 @TelegraphLife @RosaSilverman Yes, agree she still has to work, which is why I stipulated flexible hours. I’ve got several new moms working for me in different time zones. They get up very early or work late, so the daycare need drops along with the cost.

With some blocks in the geometry library of TurtleStitch it's so easy to make designs for cardstock cutting and output as dxf files. Children made these triangular pyramids this afternoon. #turtlestitch

I want this SVG learning tool/sandbox to make it easy to learn how path commands work - dragging points won't act similar to in a typical design tool! to make it also useful as an editing tool, I added a way to convert the commands to absolute ones, which are a bit more familiar

@davidalsdorf @chibitronics To me the biggest affordances of the Chibi Chip are a) clippable to & removeable from a sheet of paper, b) super-thin for book arts / papercraft projects once you take it off the clip, and c) quick and easy to reprogram and to teach to beginners

@solitarysnail In retrospect this was a really random thing to reply to, but I was like omigosh, someone else is going down one of these find-just-the-right-object rabbitholes! I am very familiar with those!

@susanettenheim I ended up regretting not getting more RAM on my new iMac! All the reviews I read said I wouldn’t need it, but maybe I tend to have a lot of things open at once.

A client teaches her child with creative thinking. To encourage the child, she build the 3D model of toy bags from doodles from the kid and 3D print them out. They prepared to paint the bags together. 3D printing can be the best teaching aid. #3dprint #prototype #toy #teaching

@zackboston and more generally, design of everyday apps / software so that the digital tools we use every day for home and life purposes aren’t just those imposed by people who know how to build them. Like learning to cook vs pre-packaged food.
