At the @forumalpbach🇪🇺🇦🇹, I took part today in a thematik hike with students, academics, other thought-leaders, entrepreneurs and decisionmakers, on the perspectives for the future of the EU and its unity in the new age of aggressive power competition. Together with @HBrandstaetter, Prof Josephine van Zeben @EUI_EU and @einotai, we discussed the imperative for the EU to continue to stand with Ukraine🇪🇺🇺🇦, to significantly upgrade its defence, to accelerate its enlargement, to improve its competitiveness and to implement with partners the Paris Climate Agreement. The EU can and must be a strong actor of the rules-based international system, with the UN🇺🇳 at its core. Many important ideas and suggestions to take with me from this constructive exchange! And a particular thanks to @othmar_karas for his leadership at the @forumalpbach in these new challenging times.
