I received this message from one of Captain Cody Khrok’s best friends today. Captain Khork was one of the 4 soldiers killed in Kuwait. “Josie, I saw you are posting about some of the service members who passed away in Kuwait. It would me the world to me to share more about Cody’s life, pictures, stories. Cody was the best of us. He always wanted to be in the military and came from a military family. He moved to my neighborhood in Winter Haven Florida in middle school. He was my best friend and grew into family. He called my mom, mom and she raised him for a period of time in high school. I used my job at Publix Supermarkets to get him hired and he worked with me at the local store a couple of years in collage. He lived with me after basic training for a period of time before buying his dads house in Winter Haven and deploying regularly  He graduated from Lake Region High School in Eagle Lake (2008) and Florida Southern College in Lakeland  (2014). He enlisted in the National Guard in 2009 and later commissioned as a Military Police Officer in the Army Reserve in 2014. During his service, he deployed to Saudi Arabia in 2018, Guantanamo Bay in 2021, and Poland in 2024. He also spend time deployed in Korea and Africa but I’m unsure of the exact years.  He received numerous medals and honors recognizing his service, leadership, and commitment to others. Some pictures of that below.  Cody played paintball semi professionally on a team for a period of time, enjoyed video games. He was a huge Florida Gators football fan and Tampa Bay Lightning fan and we went to many games together over the years.  Friends will tell you he was an amazing person, hilarious sense of humor, and most importantly the life of the party. Everybody who worked with him in the military looked up to him and said he would lead from the front. He helped many proper through the darkest times in their lives and was part of the best times.   He was also unapologetically American which I think he would say is the most important part.” And what an impossibly brave, good, and generous person Cody was. Well done. Good and faithful servant. Rest now.

I am so tired... tired of all the things I have to do, tired of feeling guilty when I am not there with him, tired of being with him and thinking of all the things I have to do, tired of finally finding the time and just not having the energy to do any of it. Context: My husband had a MASSIVE stroke 10/21. He went from ICU to regular hospital to rehab/nursing home on 11/25.

@HarmeetKDhillon Thank you for this. My husband had a massive stroke Oct 21. He is currently in rehab and I am visiting him daily, whilst preparing the house for when he can come home. That is when I will become his full-time caregiver.

This Christmas, my heart goes out to the family caregivers…. The unsung and often unseen heroes who provide comfort and dignity from a place of love and duty. No time off, often feeling stress or guilt, hiding your sadness in seeing a loved one struggle or decline. I see you. ❤️

And thanks to the Schumer Shutdown, his brother is finding it very difficult to come see him because he can't get a flight. I bet this is going on everywhere, and they just don't give a shit.

For the tiny handful of people following me that are actually real and not bots, I could use a little moral and emotional support. Nineteen days ago, my husband had a massive hemorrhagic stroke. At the moment, we don't know if he will ever be able to come home. That is an improvement over several days ago, when hospice was mentioned. Just needing some good vibes, here.

Hamas is responsible for every death since 10/7. Deny that truth and your morality and intellect are warped beyond repair.

I love going out to Halloween events & costume contests... but it is getting harder to find them. A lot of them are now turning into "Pride" events.

2 years ago today, Hamas terrorists executed, kidnapped, raped, and tortured innocent civilians, including many Americans. Still to this day, hostages remain in captivity in Gaza. This morning at the Kennedy Center, most of President Trump’s Cabinet gathered with former American hostages, American families of hostages, and others.

It’s October 7 again. 2 years. 24 months. 732 days. 17,568 hours. 48 hostages haven’t seen the sun in 2 years. They haven’t been fed properly in 24 months. They haven’t been hugged by their families in 732 days. They haven’t felt safe in 17,568 hours. BRING THEM HOME🎗️

Two years ago today, a group of vile Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 innocent human beings in Israel. We pray for their families today, and for President Trump’s efforts to secure lasting peace in the region.

With a then-23-yr history of abdominal adhesions, surgeries, & bowel obstructions, I had a GI doc in 2016 tell I was feeling referred pain from old car accidents. Within 2 weeks, I went to ER with full bowel obstruction and almost died that night. Glad I listened to myself and not that jerk.

I went to the doctor b/c I was concerned about a dull sensation in my left breast. My doc felt around and essentially said “I don’t feel anything, you’re good to go,” and let me walk out the door without a mammogram ever being discussed. Long story short, I rejected her assessment and I’m here today to agree with @JakeTapper — advocate for yourself.

This almost happened to our daughter, the hospital did not take it seriously when she complained of abdominal pain and said she merely had a virus. Wrong. She almost died of sepsis. Advocate for yourself in the hospital! Demand imaging if no one is sure what’s wrong with you!
