I just won my property tax fight in Texas.
And it was actually not that hard.
Here’s the hack.
You take a dozen or so pictures of various defects on your home and claim that these are substantially worse than your neighbors.
Therefore, it justifies a significantly lower property value assessment.
These can be anything: old bathroom, drywall cracks, old flooring, plumbing issues, old fence, foundation damage, and so on.
If you do this each year, you will win nearly every time.
The best part?
You never have to show up in person at the county office to protest. This is all done virtually.
Another hack is to file your protest EARLY. Your best bet is to file your protest the same day your county assessment arrived in the mail.
