@Caitkeating I hope the family is aware of the attorney (my ex-husband) they have representing them. He essentially used the family law system to take my daughter and do the exact same thing to me that was done to Maya's family. Except I survived.

@blackgirlinmain Born and raised in Miami. I love South Florida, but I would not want to live there again at the stage. Way too much traffic. Way too much violent crime. Way too expensive. I live in the beach part of Jacksonville, and it has its drawbacks, but I do like living here.

Friends, tell me your thoughts on Fort Lauderdale. For a myriad of reasons, it is now very close to the top of my relocation possibilities. No matter where I go, I can do my job, so work/job scene is not an issue for me. Yeah, I know its hot but I gotta move South.

@c_montgomery That’s ridiculous! On a related note, I have found it disheartening over the years to find a lot of episcopal priests on Twitter reveling in their own “snarkiness,” as though it is something to be celebrated.

99% of the reason I’m on this app is to follow Episcopal faith leaders I admire. It’s disheartening to see some of them disparage hybrid M.Div programs, which are making it possible for people like me to respond to God’s call to ordained ministry.

White folks living in white spaces, you do not need to be in proximity to Black or Brown folks in order to organize for racial justice. If fact, the whiter the space, the more terrain you have to work with. Do you understand this?

Received an anti-semitic flyer at the rectory less than a week after writing an article decrying a recent anti-semitic act. I won’t stay silent.

@blackgirlinmain I thought of it as my 50th birthday year when I turned 50 last year. He helped me to not put so much stock in just the date itself. Just thought I would share in case that is it all appealing to you.

In Maine, storms shut down everything. Now the hotel has a restaurant but will it be open? Will anything else in this town I'm going to be open? However, my last 3 birthdays were not as planned, and I really don't want to be in the house for this one. So, adventure time!

Life canceled my original plans for my 50th, so I made backup plans. Now, a winter storm might shake things up. If we don't end up with dinner from the 7-11 and drinking rot gut at the unsavory watering hole in the town we are going to, it will be a miracle.

Sometimes, you need to just scream into the void. To be witnessed in a fleeting manner.

Human nature is that when we see someone we know posting they are going through it, we immediately want to know what's wrong? What's going on, so we hit them up. It's really stressful. I prefer a simple "don't know what you are facing, but I'm holding you in my thoughts."

Heard a newscaster refer to “this winter” and I was like, “What?!” And then I remembered. I live in Florida now.
