@NickFriend1 For spin the definition of below average is: Excessive turn from the protected area on the first or second playing days of the match. Hopefully this still allows counties to produce pitches for spinners. Penalties should be more for excessive seam movement.

Significant change deep in this year's Champo regs. Any team whose pitch is rated "below average" will be docked all points from the game, regardless of result or bonuses - ie. you'd get 0 for a win. Likely, you'd think, to impact spinners in particular. thecricketer.com/Topics/county-…

Pinning blame on the bowlers for not defending 205 is ludicrous. They were put in that position after the batters again failed to capitalise on a golden opportunity. Plus, the bowlers were the ones who saved the batters in the 1st innings - a familiar story in English cricket.
