Very delayed thread about last month's terrific Liberal Arts College Labor and Public (LAC-PaL) Conference held at @Smith_Economics with support from @AmherstCollege Econ. We had 37 in-person & 15 virtual attendees, and 2 days of terrific presentations and conversations!

4/ @ekose86, @EliraKuka, and @shenhav_n, show that girls exposed to more years of women's suffrage in their state of birth obtained higher levels of education in adulthood.
These gains were concentrated among poorer families and Black families.

It’s official: I got tenure!!!

Life can surprise you. Within a week, I got tenure and was promoted to associate professor at @bentleyu, but the most amazing news was the birth of my daughter Elif. Feeling grateful for this incredible gift, and for my partner @heykiersten, who has been my rock through it all.

Despite the Zoom format, it was a great two days. I'm inspired by the terrific work being done by my colleagues in liberal arts college econ depts. My wonderful co-conspirator @ekose86 and I look forward to continuing to build this community with an in-person workshop next year.
