Samay Raina came to @actorprepares to meet me with his wonderful parents, Pushkar ji and Sweety ji. Such warmth, such grace… a truly beautiful Kashmiri Pandit family. ❤️ Samay, on screen, is sharp, funny and brilliant. But off screen, he was like a protective son. There is something very endearing about that quality. ❤️‍🩹 At just 28, his timing and sense of humour are outstanding. I genuinely feel he is a genius…. Well ALMOST! 🤓All bad patches take us back to reflect! To pause. And if we take it as a #LessonOfLife , then we are unstoppable! 😍😍🏆 Samay and I tried cracking jokes together… I failed. Then he failed. How HUMAN! 🤗🤓😄 And that’s when I was reminded—life is not about getting it right all the time. It is about failing, laughing, getting up again… and enjoying the journey. Thank you Samay, Pushkar ji and Sweety ji for such a lovely visit. It stayed with me. Sweety ji! On your next visit to Mumbai I promise to make you meet my mother #DulariTheGreat! Orzu Te Lassiv! ❤️😍🙏 #SamayRaina #KashmiriPandit #Warmth #YoungTalent

His name was R Akash Delison. He was 26 years old. An engineering graduate from Sivaganga district in Tamil Nadu. On March 6 this year 10 police officers in plain clothes came to his home and took him away. He was accused of attacking two men. A case that needed investigation and a courtroom. Instead he gave a dying declaration to a magistrate. In it he described how police blindfolded him, placed his legs on stones, covered them with a wet sack, and beat them repeatedly with an iron rod. Police said he fell from a bridge while trying to escape. He died on March 8. 48 hours after arrest. He never saw a courtroom. Yesterday India celebrated a custodial death conviction. Akash Delison’s family is still waiting for one. There are hundreds of families still waiting.

Even he is taking potshots at Bollywood and Khans 😂😂😂 That’s the situation of them after Dhurandhar. While very few from Bollywood are genuinely happy with the success of Dhurandhar, many are filled with hate, khans are burning with jealousy, and some like him are in the middle - forced love and appreciation for Dhurandhar.😂 Don’t miss the ending though.😜

She was just 10 and everyone thought he was “bahut achha ladka.” He was “Engineer Bhaiyya” — around 27. A tenant in their house. Polite, soft-spoken, educated. Every evening, he would return from work with chocolates. Children would gather around him. He smiled. He cared. He looked safe. This little girl trusted him too. She lived downstairs with her mother. No father. The mother was fighting life alone — managing home, respect, survival-everything. Slowly, like any innocent child, she started going upstairs. Sometimes for chocolates. Sometimes to play games on his phone. Sometimes just to sit. Nothing looked wrong. Nothing felt wrong. Until one day something changed. The same child who once ran towards him—now froze when he entered. She would quietly move behind her mother. Hold her saree tightly. Half hide her face. No words. Just fear. And fear in a child is never random. A mother always knows. That evening, she sat her down. Held her face gently. And asked only one question —“Beta, kya hua?” The child stayed silent. Then slowly in a trembling voice-she spoke: “Woh Bhaiyya gande hain… mujhe gandi films dikhate hain… aur galat tareeke se chhoote hain…” That moment- A mother broke. A child lost her innocence. But the mother did not collapse. She acted. Without thinking about society, without thinking about consequences, she picked up her phone and dialed 100. *What followed is something every parent must know* Within minutes, police arrived. Not with noise. Not with fear. A lady officer, in simple clothes, sat next to the child — not like an officer, but like a mother. She spoke softly. Let the child speak in her own time. No pressure. No intimidation. And right there, in the presence of her mother, the child’s statement was recorded. *That one statement was enough. The law did not wait. The same evening, the man whom everyone called “achha ladka” was taken into custody. People often believe — “aisa kuch hota nahi-bail mil jaati hai…” But in such cases, things are different. He did not walk out the next day. Or the next week. He remained in custody. Days turned into months, months turned into years. He did not get bail for 2 years. Because the law understands something we often forget — What happened to that child, does not leave her in days or months. It stays. *The case moved forward. But even the courtroom did not look like what we usually imagine. The child was not made to stand in front of him. There was a separation. She did not have to answer questions from him directly. Every question passed through the judge. And the judge spoke to her gently, carefully, as if protecting not just her statement, but her mind. The entire system, for once, adjusted itself to protect a child. And slowly, through process, through patience, the law moved towards justice. **I handled this case. And what stayed with me was not just the law but the silence before the child spoke and the courage of a mother who chose to act. There was a time when such things were buried inside homes. Today, things have changed. If a child speaks-the law listens. If someone acts-the system responds. But it all begins at one point — When someone chooses not to ignore. *If you ever see a child suddenly becoming quiet, avoiding someone, showing fear without reason… Don’t dismiss it. Sit down. Ask. Listen. And if something feels wrong——-act. Because the law is there. But it moves only when we do. We may not be able to protect every child everywhere. But we can ensure one thing — No child around us suffers in silence. #ChildSafety #ProtectOurChildren #ChildAbuseAwareness #SpeakUpForChildren #StopChildAbuse #SafeChildhood #ListenToChildren #BelieveChildren #ChildProtection #EndChildAbuse #RaiseAwareness

IT TAKES A LOT TO BE REVATHI…!!! While the whole country is celebrating the landmark judgement of death penalty for the NINE policemen in the Santhanakulam custodial torture and murder of Jeyaraj and Bennix, you should know about Revathi. Revathi was a constable in Santhanakulam police station in 2020 when the gruesome incident took place. She was the key witness and the sole reason for all the arrogant officers getting punished today. The police men involved in the brutality were all big men, Revathi was a small time constable. But she stood unperturbed. When Magistrate Bharathidasan, who initially investigated this case, arrived at the Santhanakulam police station he had no clue that constable Revathi will help close the case. "Sir, I will tell you everything, every detail, the truth that is being hidden. But I am the mother of two young girls... can you guarantee the safety of my children and my job?", she had asked the magistrate. Revathi was on night duty when the cruel incident took place. She witnessed the brutality being inflicted on Jeyaraj and Bennix and narrated every single detail. She told how SI Balakrishnan, inspector Sridhar and SI Ragukanes, kept beating the father and son with whatever they found, and how they also stomped on their private parts with their shoes. She remembered their screams. She saw how the officers took pause only to sip alcohol while the victims withered in pain. When the father and son were semi-conscious, unable to bear it, Revathi asked Jayaraj if he needed anything. She gave him coffee which the officials spilt it immediately. Revathi couldn’t stand the brutality but being a woman constable there was only so much she could do. She then offered water to the victims. The so called policemen then stripped Bennix naked, tied his hands and legs separately, and beat him up. They did the same to Jeyaraj. Revathi couldn’t bear the pain of their screams, she left the place. According to the postmortem report, their entire back was skinned, iron rods were inserted and they bled from their rectums. When the case was being discussed by the media, when even the CM of Tamil Nadu tried to brush it away, Revathi knew the truth. The police officials, cleaned up the station of any DNA evidences, erased the CCTV footage and warned everyone to shut-up and not try to become heroes. But Revathi didn’t just narrate the entire ordeal in exact detail…she even helped the investigating officials obtain other crucial information. Despite everything being cleaned, Revathi gathered DNA of the victims in crevices of the walls and floors, on furniture and other objects. She was questioned, threatened, intimidated, bribed and even abused. She stood by justice. She had to go against her colleagues for justice of comman man. In the time when police force is often looked upon with reasonable suspicion, there are people in uniform like Revathi. Today court could pronounce death sentence to nine police officers - only because one woman decided she will stand by truth! Kudos to Revathi, an amazing woman and an absolutely fabulous police officer. The world is a better place because of her courage. Salute ma’am 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

A Madurai court today sentenced nine Tamil Nadu cops to death in the 2020 Sathankulam custodial deaths case, calling it “rarest of rare.” On 19 Jun 2020 in Sathankulam, Thoothukudi, P. Jayaraj (60) was picked up for keeping his shop open past lockdown hours. It was a petty violation, something that would normally attract a fine. Instead, he was taken to the police station and beaten. Word reached his son, J. Bennix (31), who came to the station. When Bennix arrived and saw his father already assaulted, he protested and argued with the police. That confrontation became the turning point. Instead of de-escalating, the police turned on both of them with far greater intensity. What followed was not sporadic violence but sustained custodial torture. Through the night, both men were stripped and repeatedly beaten with lathis. Eyewitnesses later described continuous assault: blow after blow, hour after hour, targeting not just the limbs and back but also lathis forced into their rectums. The violence was methodical and prolonged, not a sudden burst of anger. Their blood was splattered across the station walls, and they were made to clean the floor of their own blood multiple times. The next morning, they were taken to a govt hospital and, shockingly, declared “fit” for custody despite requiring changes of six lungis due to profuse rectal bleeding. They were then produced before magistrate D. Saravanan, who remanded them to custody without examining their condition or speaking to them directly, citing COVID protocols. He reportedly stood on his balcony while police surrounded the injured men below and, without following basic safeguards against custodial abuse, signaled the police to take them away. The two were then sent to Kovilpatti sub-jail, about 100 km from Sathankulam. Both died within the next few days. This wasn’t some distant, dark chapter from history. This happened in 2020, just a few years ago, out in the open, without fear of law, backlash, or consequence. And that’s what makes it worse. Police brutality is routine, not an exception. For every case that shocks the nation, there are countless others that never surface. Many don’t report because they fear the very system meant to protect them. Social media occasionally forces attention, but justice shouldn’t depend on something going viral. Sadly, this will continue because governments are apathetic towards police reforms.
