@reporterchris Tanking is not allowed in the NHL, you can even lose your draft pick if you purposely tanked, he had to say this for public consumption, what is said behind closed doors is another matter.

@PeteBlackburn Brian Hayward is a homer, just like every other color commentator and I enjoy listening to him. People think it’s cool to hate on him. You know the tv guys have personal relationships with the players and get Stanley cup rings if their employer wins, right?

@jonassiegel I don't like Gudas, however I have to give him a little respect because only a hockey player will play through injury in a game where there is a very good chance more then one guy on the other team is going to try and kick your ass! Here's hoping it actually happens.

@Leafslatest 2/2 apart form not trusting Pelley and ownership to recognize the issues, they then res to find a GM to fix it and a HC to take that new vision and make it happen on the ice! So where is this supposed change actually going to come from???

🚨 This is going to be an offseason of change in Toronto, and they’re definitely not coming back the same. The feeling is the Leafs don’t have enough energy right now, and that needs to improve if they want to be anywhere near a playoff team. There’s also a sense that a lot of what happens could depend on Auston Matthews and the direction he decides to take, with some decisions potentially being made for them based on how things play out. There were small signs of what’s been missing, like Easton Cowan stepping up and taking on a bigger opponent, which stood out because it’s something people have wanted to see. At the same time, Chris Tanev being out is viewed as a significant loss, both for his puck movement and his presence in the room. A lot will come down to exit meetings, where it’s still unclear how players feel about their roles and future. @Leafslatest 1/2 I don’t doubt that they would like a lot to change, but there is no help in free agency, trades are hard to make, they have no draft capital, prospects that can step in are almost non existent and with the cap rising every year, every team has cap space…

@OverDrive1050 Minten looks good but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Carlo is second in plus minus on the Leafs d and was fine in Boston. Not a good trade but the Leafs culture ruins everything it touches.

@Berger_BYTES If the plan is to trade him this summer, step 1 is to have a new GM in to handle that. Treliving can’t be trusted with the most pivotal trade in Leafs history!

@Berger_BYTES The major differences to last season, are the results! High shooting % and elite goaltending has regressed to the mean…this style is horrible to watch and nobody called it out because they were winning. Change it all starting with GM and Head Coach

Anyone who thinks the #Leafs are deliberately “tanking” has a severe dose of recency bias. Except for a couple of stretches, these quitters have been playing like this all season.
