My honest take on Jaden Iveys performance this year (20 games in): Ivey has looked very solid as a 3pt shooter (37.1% on the year) but either he still doesn’t trust his leg or lost some of his burst/athleticism which is why he’s been settling instead of attacking the paint as much as he did in past years where we saw the potential of scoring, drawing fouls, and collapsing defenses. However his finishing and pace are much more controlled which is good, and he has been a solid passer/ball handler when called upon. His defense looks much improved better activity especially on the ball, off the ball is questionable at times but offensively just missing that aggressive attack mode mindset, however it’s hard with limited minutes and not being featured much in the offense combined with returning from such a big injury and being away from the game for so long. Ivey has shown flashes of what he is capable of but still a lot of areas need to improve, now that can come with time but that combined with the way JB has utilized him there is no guarantee he will be the second option Cade needs, and if the pistons want to take advantage of this weak east I wouldn’t be shocked if Trajan decided to move on from him in a deal for a proven player. Overall I believe in Ivey and am rooting for him but we will just have to see how it plays out!#DetroitBasketball
