No. It is understanding of the school of thought they follow. So when we form a row for oyr prayer (salat), there is a school of thought in Islamic jurisprudence that says your tows must touch each other. Another school of thought says the toes don’t necessarily have to touch each other, straight line (row) is enough. West Africans historically follow the understanding of the “toe should touch toe” school while most other Muslims across the world don’t care. I personally think the toe to toe school is more corect.

Having prayed solat in mosques in at least 30 cities in Nigeria and at least 20 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia, I observed two things with respect to solat: 1. Toe-to-toe in solat rows is most common/emphasized in West Africa (Nigeria, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire) and some parts of East Africa (Kenya, Zanzibar) than anywhereIn North Africa, Middle East and Europe (although Asians or Asian-originated still the people in Europe), they don’t close the gaps in rows. 2. I have not seen anwywhere where non-obligatory post-zuhr rakat are more commonly observed than Southwest Nigeria (+ Kwara). In any typical mosque in SW+Kwara, at least half of the jama’ah observe the voluntary two rakat after zuhr and maghrib prayers. I don’t see this practice that common in other places I have done salat across the world. I know these are not fundamental matters. It’s just me documenting yet another random observation.

Dear Christians, When I say that God has not taken a son, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that God neither slumbers nor sleeps, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that God does not die, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that God is One, without partners or equals, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that nothing is like unto Him, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that He begets not, nor is He begotten, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that Jesus was a mighty prophet and messenger, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary by Allah’s command, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that Jesus spoke in the cradle and performed miracles by Allah’s leave, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that Jesus was not crucified nor killed, but was raised unto Allah, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I say that Muhammad is the final Messenger sent to all mankind, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I affirm that guidance is in Allah's hands alone, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. When I call to the worship of Allah alone without associates, I am not attacking your religion, I am only teaching mine. There is no compulsion in religion, truth stands clear from falsehood. To you is your way, and to me is mine. Let us live in peace, with mutual respect and kindness, For we share this world as fellow human beings, Seeking the mercy of the One Creator in our different paths. All of this in accordance to my Scripture and the core teachings of my Faith. May Allah guide us all to understanding and harmony. Āmīn.

@iamklassicz @kabirhamzat0 @contentmints The bone of contention is not eating xtian's food, but eating the food prepared to celebrate birth of god or son of God. Can you say bcos Allah made their food Hakal to us, we can eat pork if they cooked it, or Allah is not aware that pork is part of their meal?

@kabirhamzat0 @contentmints This is what he explained and you’re getting it differently. There’s a difference between celebrating with them and eating the food. You honestly don’t have to agree, however, it’s clear of the difference between what you just stated

I have been seeing all over my TL that Christmas food is Haram. Those who are saying this have quoted every possible scholar. The one thing they’ve not quoted is Quran and Sunnah. May Allah protect us from making Haram what Allah has made Halal. In Sheri’ah ruling, when Allah and His messenger give a ruling, we wait for Qareenah that’ll change it from ‘Aam to Khaas, before we decide it’s not general. العام يبقى على عمومه حتى يرد دليل التخصيص The general remains upon its generality until evidence of specification comes. What we know in the Quran is that the food of the people of book is Halal. Khalas. No but from the messenger or the Quran. And when Allah mentioned the categories of the foods we can’t consume in the Quran, this was not there. We shouldn’t be arguing, brethren. Don’t try to start giving us weak logic about how we are encouraging them. لا قياس مع وجود النص! There is no room for analogical reasoning when an explicit text exists. If we don’t eat, do we discourage them? You’ll see how weak that argument is if you think about it. Just give us plain prohibition where the food of Ahlul Kitab is Haram and I’ll not even smell it. What we need from you, simply, is that verse or Hadith, or even the tiniest hint from either of them, that points to this Tahreem.

For those who do not understand the image. The cartoon image is a meme that depicts a man in traditional Arab attire (thobe and ghutra) holding a stack of five large books labeled Qalun, Hafs, Warsh, Al-Duri, and Khalaf. What the meme is referring to These labels are not different "books" or separate versions of the Quran. They are names of authentic canonical recitations (Qirā'at) of the same Quran: 1. Hafs (full: Hafs 'an 'Asim): The most widespread recitation today, used in about 95% of printed Qur'ān worldwide (including most Muslim countries outside North Africa). 2. Warsh (Warsh 'an Nafi'): Commonly used in parts of North Africa (e.g., Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia). 3. Qalun: (Qalun 'an Nafi'): Another transmission from the same reader as Warsh, popular in Libya and parts of Tunisia. 4. Al-Duri; (Al-Duri 'an Abu 'Amr): Used in some regions of Sudan and West Africa. 5. Khalaf (Khalaf 'an Hamzah): One of the less common ones today but still authentic. There are traditionally 7 or 10 canonical Qirā'at (depending on scholarly classification), all tracing back through unbroken chains of transmission to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). These are different styles of recitation, primarily in pronunciation, intonation, vowel lengthening, and minor word forms similar to regional accents or dialects in a language. Why the differences exist (Islamic perspective) The Qur'ān was revealed in classical Arabic, which had various tribal dialects. Authentic hadiths state it was revealed in seven ahruf (modes/dialects) to make recitation easier for different Arab tribes. Over time, these developed into the standardized Qirā'at, all considered fully authentic and divinely permitted. The skeletal text (rasm) of the Qur'ān remains identical across all; differences are mostly in how words are vocalized or minor synonyms that complement rather than contradict the meaning. The meme plays on a common criticism (often from non-Muslim polemicists) suggesting these Qirā'at prove "multiple Qur'ān" or textual corruption. In reality: a. All Qirā'at convey the same core message and doctrines. b. Differences are subtle (e.g., pronunciation of a word like "maliki" vs. "maaliki" in Al-Fatihah, or minor grammatical forms). c. They enrich understanding by providing layered meanings, not conflicts. d. The vast majority of Muslims recite in Hafs today, but switching to another authentic Qira'ah is perfectly valid. The "confusion" portrayed is satirical exaggeration, there's no genuine doubt among scholars that all these are the one Qur'ān, perfectly preserved in its authentic forms. Take every attack they throw against Islam as an opportunity to teach Muslims about Islam. In a way, they are helping to spread Islam but they do not know it because they are not different from the beasts, unable to think, research or see things properly. In fact, they are even more astray than the breasts.

Snakes stress me the most amongst wildlife. There are more than 4,000 species and I only know about 200+. Sometimes, I forget the ones whose names I already know. Peopke will say "Arojinle, which snake is this?" and my brain will just be going "I know this snake now. I know it." At the end of the day, I'll have to go read about it again. I only revise other animals once in a while, bus snakes are regular revision topics.

Dear Opeoluwa, Thank you for your feedback. First of all, understand that I am not a Muslim. Therefore, none of what I am writing to you should be taken to mean that I am speaking for Islam. These are just my own thoughts acquired from decades of studying Islam. For a more accurate answer, from an Islamic perspective, please reach out to an Ustaz, Imam, al-faqīh (what we mistakenly call Alfa in Nigeria), or Sheikh. There are no historically and scientifically accurate records of how old Umm Aisha was when she married prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalaam. However, please do note the following: In those days, it was customary to betroth girls to men when they were young, and the marriage would be consummated when the girls came of age. This is still happening in the Middle East and North Africa today, as well as in Northern Nigeria. For example, and you may want to fact-check this, more than 50% of women in Northern Nigeria marry before the age of 18. Let me give you a biblical instance, since you are likely a Christian. Opeoluwa, how old do you think Mariam (Mary) was when she was betrothed to Joseph? She was believed to be between the ages of 10 and 12. How do we know this? Jewish Hebrew girls of that era typically married after their Bat Mitzvah, a ceremony declaring that they were now women. Bat Mitzvahs are celebrated when a Jewish girl hits the age of 13. It was believed that Maryam was 14 when she gave birth to Yeshua. King David married Abishag, who was believed to be between 12-15, when he was in his late sixties-1 Kings 1:3. And God Himself designed it that way, which is why a girl starts to menstruate at the age of 12-13. Menstruation is a natural monthly cycle confirming that a girl is physically capable of having children. Are you now going to question God? To put things into perspective, this same Umm Aisha was the author, by narration, of over 2000 Hadiths. In none of those Hadiths did she testify that she was underaged when she married the prophet of Islam.   The challenge for many of those who may want to castigate the marriage between Umm Aisha and the prophet of Islam is that they use modern trends to judge things that occurred over a thousand years ago. This world is evolving, and customs and cultures change with it. However, we must be careful when using today's value systems to judge events from different eras. Thanks again, and may God bless you. People from Kwara are Northerners. If you believe that they are Lukumi Yoruba and not Northerners, then redraw Nigeria's map. Sardauna Ahmadu Bello did not do this. Murtala Muhammed did not either. Even your mentor, General Buhari, who recently publicly rejected you, did not do this. Malam Nasir el-Rufai should not destroy Nigeria because of his selfish interest. He ought to think twice before dividing the monolithic North. He is not the first person not to be appointed as a Minister. Nasir and his surrogates are so desperate to destabilise Nigeria that they listed eighty-three prominent positions allegedly held by Lukumi Yorubas. In their desperation, they failed to inform their followers that there are more positions held by Northerners in this administration, which I have previously listed. Now, let me speak directly to Nasir el-Rufai. Was it not you, Nasir el-Rufai, as Governor of Kaduna, who said on video that you would give preference to Muslims and those from Northern Kaduna? Even you, Nasir el-Rufai, are you even from Kaduna State? Without General Buhari, could you have emerged as Governor? Your personality, vindictiveness, and mean-spiritedness are familiar. Let me not mention Kogi, a state that I admire. A nod is as good as a wink. Reno Omokri Gospeller. Deep Thinker. #TableShaker.
