Former President Barack Obama called on Americans to “step up” like Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. during a celebration of life honoring the late civil rights leader on Friday. "We are living in a time when it can be hard to hope," Obama said during his speech in front of thousands in attendance at House of Hope church in Chicago with thousands in attendance. "Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions." "But this man, Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, inspires us to take a harder path," Obama added. “His voice calls on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope, to step forward and say, ‘Send me,' wherever we have a chance to make an impact.” Obama was one of three former Democratic U.S. presidents, along with Joe Biden and Bill Clinton, who attended the service. Former Vice President Kamala Harris also attended. Jackson died in February at age 84.

Happy heavenly birthday to the Honorable John Lewis. His unwavering dedication to "good trouble" and the pursuit of civil rights remains an enduring inspiration to all who stand for justice and equality. His contributions to the Black community and this nation will never be forgotten. Today, we honor his remarkable life and legacy. Rest in power.

On Valentine’s Day, we remember that love is more than sentiment. It is a decision. “I have decided to stick with love.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Choosing love means choosing courage, justice, and nonviolence in how we treat one another. It means committing to create the Beloved Community in our homes, our workplaces, and our world. Take the BE LOVE pledge and put love into action at thekingcenter.pulse.ly/cbuamq7hv3 #TheKingCenter #MLK #BelovedCommunity #BELove

I truly enjoyed Bad Bunny’s halftime performance. I loved the choreography, cinematography, vibes, & production, but enjoyed the messaging even more. The message of Love, unity, & togetherness was poignant just days after the beauty, grace, & elegance of the Obama’s were attack by overt racism. So, many spoke in support of the Obamas & Bad Bunny. The ugliness of our times persisted, but I so much good in the hearts of people. @thepivot clips on @youtube #ThePivot #BadBunny #TheObama #Love #Podcasts youtu.be/g7yDa0oP7C8
