Today I am announcing that, due to family obligations, I will not run again for NH House. It has been such an honor to represent my community. I'm proud of my work, in coalition with many others, to bring sexual violence prevention to NH curriculum and to build a real movement for a constitutional amendment to protect reproductive rights.  Along the way I had two babies, who both started attending session at a week old. They came with me to the well when I spoke, and I nursed them both in the House. I was NH Young Dems 2023 Progressive of the Year, and was elected to co-chair the House Progressive Caucus. And, I've made some great friendships along the way. I look forward to helping to elect amazing candidates, fighting for reproductive rights, and spending time with my kids outside of public office. Thank you to the many who have supported me along this journey. I want to especially thank my best friend and campaign manager Devon. I started doing reproductive justice work with her 20 years ago, and she has helped me to get through multiple primaries, make policy decisions, and strategies to achieve political goals. The other major thank you is to my family -- they have made tremendous sacrifices so I can do this work. And of course, thank you to my community and constituents for your support.

Late last month, I had the privilege of delivering two lectures to students studying Women and Gender Studies at Keene State College. My M.Ed. was earned from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I had the opportunity to study with some exceptional professors, notably the renowned historian Heather Cox Richardson. As a former social studies teacher, I relished the opportunity to return to the classroom. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Professor Patricia Gonzalez for inviting me to speak. Professor Gonzalez is a highly intelligent and passionate individual, and Keene State College is fortunate to have her as part of its faculty.

Ahead of our organizational caucus tomorrow, I wanted to share that I am not running for a second term as NH House Democratic Leader and am throwing my support behind my good friend, colleague, and partner in Concord -- Deputy Leader @AlexisSimpsonNH. #NHPolitics If Alexis wins her election tomorrow, I will spend the next two years focusing my energy and effort on leading our caucus’ campaign operation to ensure NH House Democrats win the majority in 2026. It has been the honor of a lifetime to lead the NH House Democratic Caucus in this historic biennium. Alongside Alexis and our incredible team, we passed a bipartisan state budget and a bipartisan bail reform package. We stopped some of the worst bills from reaching the Governor’s desk. We fought for our shared values as Democrats and as Granite Staters every step of the way. And amidst a red wave, Rep. Laura Telerski and the team at the NH House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee worked with hardworking candidates to prevent a Republican supermajority by holding tough seats in purple and red districts across the state. Make no mistake: I’m still in the fight. In fact, I’m rolling up my sleeves now to ensure success in 2026. I am deeply passionate and feel uniquely positioned to lead our political work, having led the effort to revamp our caucus’ campaign operation following the 2020 election, coming within just 11 votes across three seats of winning back the majority in 2022. We have made great strides in running data-driven campaigns. recruiting strong candidates, and providing the tools to help them win. I look forward to building on relationships within our caucus and working with candidates who narrowly lost in swing districts last week. I’m excited to sit down with local Democratic leaders, activists, and volunteers on the ground as well as state and national partners -- all of whom will need to stay inspired and invested in our success. And I’m excited to take time to show up and listen to Granite Staters who didn’t vote for our candidates so we can work to earn their support in future elections. I’m committed to doing everything I can to help NH House Democrats build power -- and I’m ready to get work. Thanks to Alexis, Laura, and the rest of our leadership team of Rep. Karen Ebel, Rep. Joe Schapiro, Rep. Brian Sullivan, Rep. Mary Jane Wallner, and Rep. Lucy Weber plus our amazing staff team at the State House -- Dan Mason, Rachel Potter, and Slate Goodwin; Rep. Jaci Grote, the Hon. Sue Ford, Jonathan George, Troy Price, Julian Sutcliffe, Evan Cohen, and the entire team at the Victory Committee; and Jody, Ben, and Rosie for their love, encouragement, and support. We get nothing done in this work alone and I’m so lucky to have the best, hardest working team on the planet. If you get a vote tomorrow, I hope you’ll cast yours for Alexis so we can keep fighting for our values and for our future. Onward!

Thank you to Cheshire Medical Center’s Medical-Forensic Care Team and Center for Population Health for hosting today’s screening of The Last Drop and post- screening panel discussion. I was humbled and honored to be one of the panelists. It has been nearly a decade since Domestic Violence became a crime in our state. Since then, we have continued to advocate for legislative and other policy changes that increase awareness and education on the dynamics of domestic violence, how to prevent abuse, and the importance of protecting children against abusive parents.
While we have made significant strides in expanding resources and protections for survivors, domestic violence remains one of the deadliest and most dangerous crimes in New Hampshire. One way that we can continue to improve our state's response is acknowledging how serious domestic violence is. We need to ensure that anyone who might come in contact with a survivor and their children - judges, law enforcement, attorneys, hospital staff, and so on - can accurately identify the signs of abuse, that they believe survivors, and that they know how to support victims when they are seeking help.
Our laws and policies are only as strong and effective as they are implemented and enforced. As a community and state, we need to support laws and policies that prioritize victim and survivor safety, that ensure resources and services remain available, and that don’t create opportunities for abusers to further their power and control. thecolonial.org/event/the-last…

Inspiring to co-host tonight’s event alongside Jodi Newell and Jennifer Friedman to support the Reproductive Freedom Fund of New Hampshire.   Abortion funds help poor folks access abortion, provide emotional support, meals, help with transportation, accommodations, and childcare for folks who depend on additional assistance to access reproductive healthcare. They are an example of a grassroots way to create caring communities that directly confront patriarchy, classism, racism, and xenophobia, which otherwise often impede such access.  So grateful for Josie, Ali, and the rest of the RFFNH team! Donate to RFFNH! reprofund.org

While out canvassing this afternoon, I spoke with a man wearing a shirt with an American flag on it that read “Freedom through Tradition.” He asked if I was a Republican and when I said no, to my surprise, he goes, “oh good. I’m so over those Trump people.”

So grateful to join a room full of freedom-loving Granite Staters this morning at the @NHDems Unity Breakfast! This November, we are going to prove that a woman’s place is in the people's house, in the state house, in the corner office, and in the White House too. #NHPolitics

Just weeks into the school year, a 14-year-old boy brought an AR-style rifle into Apalachee High School and opened fire, killing two other 14-year-old students and two teachers and wounding nine others. This is not freedom. We are just two months away from Election Day—now’s the time to pull out all the stops to vote out gun extremists and replace them with Gun Sense Candidates. Solutions to challenging economic NH problems are my jam. This Senate race is going to be super close, decided by a handful of votes. This is a race where small dollars really do make a difference. Donate to help me reach primary voters & win! #NHPolitics secure.actblue.com/donate/rebecca…

I’m honored to have the support of Governor Lynch. From day one, we’ve been focused on the issues that matter most to Granite Staters: reproductive rights, lowering costs, and our democracy. We've run a campaign that all of us can be proud of and reflects our values. #NHPolitics

Big in #NH02: former Governor John Lynch withdraws his endorsement from @ColinVanOstern and is now supporting @MaggieG603. “I think his campaign is one of the nastiest I’ve seen in my fifty years of being involved in elections here in New Hampshire.” #NHPolitics #WMUR

Inspiring to be featured alongside my beloved daughter Daniella in @MaggieG603’s most recent ad. Maggie is fighting for mothers, daughters, and every freedom loving Granite Stater. She has earned the endorsement of @emilyslist, one of the nation’s premier pro-choice organizations. We are proud to support her to defend our most fundamental rights!

Generations of women have fought so we’d have freedom over our own bodies. But, extremists have ripped those rights away. I learned to love freedom and fight for it in New Hampshire. This campaign is for every mother, daughter, and freedom loving Granite Stater. #NHPolitics

Kicking off DAY 100 of our campaign in Keene, discussing the fight for quality, affordable housing with @electamandanh, Alberto, and friends! At the DOJ, I took on the monopolies that were jacking up rents and buying up homes. I’ll take that fight to Congress. #NHPolitics
