Democratic states are ending their 287(g) agreements. We haven’t. We can’t call ourselves a sanctuary state while running an ICE pipeline out of our prisons. The governor and legislature can end this contract today.

Massachusetts is the only blue state with a formal ICE contract called 287(g), and it has already transferred over two thousand people into ICE custody. The immigrant protection bill, the PROTECT Act, currently before the legislature leaves the current 287(g) agreement intact.
