@NickMenakos Yamato only stayed out of worry for Momo, not to rebuild Wano.
Doesn’t matter anyway since Oda will inevitably power Momo up like he did for Koby and Tama, and the. Yamato will get to sail.

Personally as much as I adore Vivi, I really want Yamato to join the crew… but, knowing he’s devoted to rebuilding Wano for now hinders this.
Loki… yeah idk how someone that big gets on the thousand sunny but the Straw Hats gaining a literal giant on the crew would be amazing.

Should there be a tenth Straw Hat, I think it comes down to three people:
Vivi: arguably the one who was already a member of the crew
Yamato: would make sense for the SHs to get someone from Wano on the crew like Roger
Loki: idk how it would work but it’s awesome to think about

Oda could easily give Yamato more purpose to sail by having Blackbeard steal Pluton while Yamato goes to get it back.

@electricmastro5 @strawhats Aside from Franky, every single member of the crew has some traces in the narrative very near the start of the series. Jinbei is mentioned by name in volume 8 and Brook's crew is hinted at in volume 12. Robin first appears in vol 13 and Chopper in vol 15.

@StrawHatJedi @strawhats But of course, if Oda will have Yamato give up on wanting to sail, then I'll gladly admit I was wrong. But until then, I feel justified in continuing to believe Yamato will sail like she said she would, just as I did with Jinbe.

@StrawHatJedi @strawhats Honestly, as far as I'm concerned, when someone was designed and what initial plan Oda had is irrelevant. What is relevant is what purpose a crewmate serves on the crew. Vivi is set to follow-up on Lili's legacy, while Yamato is set to find missing answers from the journal.

It was made clear with Green Bulls attack that Yamato can never leave Wano because the country would become a huge target

@StrawHatJedi @strawhats Well yeah, Jinbe didn’t join by the end of Fish-Man Island, so clearly Oda wants Yamato to go through some more scenes of her own before joining, as well as when Momo powers up.

@strawhats The fact that Yamato's design & character were so in flux seemingly late in the planning stages for the Wano arc were pretty strong confirmation of what I had already believed at the time - that she was not going to sail away with the crew at the end of Wano.
