The first time I entered a Catholic church, I went because a friend invited me for her baby's dedication.
As someone who grew up attending Methodist and Pentecostal churches, I was used to spending half my Sunday in church. So imagine my shock when, before I could even settle properly, they announced the end of Mass.
I was like, "Ah-ah, you people have closed already?"
The funniest part was that I didn't understand most of what was going on. If everyone stood up, I stood up. If everyone sat down, I sat down. They would respond to something, and I'd just be there looking holy and following the movements.
I survived purely on observation.
And then there was the holy water. I enjoyed my one time experience,.

My favourite thing about Catholic churches is the sprinkling of holy water. Anytime I attend a Catholic Mass, I always make sure a generous amount of that water lands on me. I can’t even explain it properly, but it gives me goosebumps every single time. The moment those droplets touch my skin, I feel like small small evil spirit inside me just packed its bags and left immediately😂 There’s just something about it that makes me feel refreshed.
