Hard times are ahead for Venezuela and the Venezuelans. That is what the powerful populist autocrats want, the hard way. But they cannot so easily bend the will of millions who have already decided their destiny.

A good time to remind followers of the Venezuelan situation there are no viable mechanisms to hold the National Electoral Authority accountable for unconstitutional or illegal actions, given the lack of judicial independence and the courts' unwillingness to challenge the regime.
