Yesterday evening Aboud and I struck a deal with fruit and vegetable merchants to buy the largest amount of produce in the history of our humanitarian kitchen yet: 40 bags of merchandise at a negotiated $480! We went to bed feeling exhilarated. Distribution started at 09:30 sharp! Each bag contained the following: One kilo of onions, one kilo of cucumbers, one kilo of local potatoes, one kilo of bananas, one kilo of oranges, one kilo of lemons, a handful of garlic, and one kilo of avocados! The delight on everyone’s face mirrors the feelings in my heart. Thank you for empowering us, for giving us hope in life and in humanity.
