Billions of people are currently surviving in temperatures between 45 and 50C. This is "only" at a 1.5C global increase. At 2C, these regions will become unbearable for long periods of the year. The lack of a coherent plan for this is shocking. #Mitigation is urgent.

We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With #globalwarming and #climatechange they have escaped out the box. This #dataviz shows UK rainfall and temperature.

This is me and and my guest on my show both feeling suffocated for covering our hair and face only for a short time. WHY? Try it yourself to understand how it feels to be FORCED to wear hijab and burqa for decades.
Recently, Taliban arrested Women of Afghanistan for the crime of wearing “bad hijab” at the same time Islamic Republic lashed women for the crime of removing their forced hijab.

@KennedyClouds Is this a new fissure or an old one that finally erupted?

The collapse of the great "ocean conveyor" is one of the more likely climate tipping points in the absence of concerted climate action: 🧵
Prof. Stefan Rahmstorf 🌏 🦣@rahmstorf
For all interested in the tipping point of the Atlantic overturning circulation : here's Henk Dijkstra's recent talk. The tipping point has been confirmed in a state-of-art climate model, and a novel early warning indicator suggests we're heading there. buff.ly/3QU5dtZ
