I am so immensely proud of the work I've done in the last decade - advocate for equity, write policy I'm proud of, and literally change the law. But healing is too important to put on the back burner, and if there is one thing I learned last year is that healing will be a lifelong journey and it can't be done alone. Onward 🩶

CW: assault 2024 marked 10 years since I was sexually assaulted the first time. After it happened again a few years later I turned to my career to find purpose, but at the end of the day a job is just a job and a career will not heal you. So I hit pause to make some changes.👇

I'm looking forward to taking some time to reflect on my 5+ years working on #WomenPeaceSecurity at GAC, and everything I've learned along the way. But above all else, I hope that my time in government has somehow, in some small way, made the world a better place for women.

It feels very right that my last day at GAC coincides with the launch of Canada’s third NAP. It has been an immense honour to work alongside deeply committed colleagues and partners to produce an Action Plan that will spur action at a time when our world needs it most.

friends of the internet, are there any e-readers (under $400 CAD) that I can easily use to access ebooks from libraries? I'm newish to e-readers (only used a Kindle at my previous job), and haven't really found a clear answer to this Q, other than "it depends".

@Casarina The struggle is so real. I got my PCOS diagnosis when I lived in Ottawa, I’ll DM you some resources that helped me when I was there.

In 2023 I had 7 menstrual cycles and when I brought up my concerns to my doctor they ran a few tests, ignore the PCOS symptoms that I had and said, "it is what it is sometimes" and basically said unless I was looking to get pregnant soon I shouldn't worry about it. 👍🏻
