BREAKING: Daryl Morey is out as president of basketball operations with the Philadelphia 76ers after six seasons, sources tell ESPN. Morey and 76ers owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer met on Tuesday evening in Philadelphia and the decision was made to part ways.

I think what people have to realize is that the Sixers have absolutely no choice but to run it back next year. That sucks. And we probably won’t get nowhere. But we have an owner who dodges the luxury tax. And a GM who can’t build a bench. this goes way beyond Maxey and I just don’t see how people are seeing this. Plus we can’t move these contracts.

Joel Embiid reportedly hasn’t been seeing eye to eye with the Sixers front office and even had an issue with the Jared McCain trade, per @Tjonesonthenba “As the season progressed, it became clear the star center didn’t see eye-to-eye with the front office and the coaching staff. In the days before the February trade deadline, he implored the front office to do something other than what he termed ‘ducking the (luxury) tax.’ As such, he — along with others in the locker room — were not happy with the decision to trade second-year guard Jared McCain to the Oklahoma City Thunder, particularly without bringing in a player to replace McCain.
